Great kayak for the money

I bought a couple of these last month and have already take them out 5 times. For the money, it's a great tandem kayak. I'm 6'3" and I can completely stretch my legs out in the rear seat. They're pretty wide so they're great for kids - very stable. My son loves fishing on them.

Heavy but Stable

This kayak is over 60lbs but its weight and width make it a stable canoe for lakes and mild rivers. It is not for rapids. The lid on the dry compartment is not very rigid and you should not expect it to keep things dry in waves or rough waters. It takes more energy to paddle this kayak than my aluminum canoe. The seating compartment will handle tall people as well as short as the feet supports are adjustable. The seats are also adjustable but tall people won't get much back support as the seat back is low. I am looking to purchase The Crack of Dawn Spyder Angler Seat for another 120 bucks. It has a large rudder and is not a flat bottom so it is meant for lakes and rivers with no rapids. You will need at least 8" - 12" of water with 2 people to float this kayak.

Excellent Kayak

I bought this kayak two years ago for a 50 mile trip for Boy Scouts and it was wonderful. Plenty of storage room for all the gear we needed and it met all of our needs. Two years later and still in excellent condition.

Great kayak!

I received this kayak as a graduation present, and I couldn't be more stoked about it! My friends don't have to worry about bringing their own 'yak when I ask let's go paddling. We've used it on lakes, rivers, and shallow streams & it holds up fantastically. Storage compartments are great, and keep things dry. Overall, it's a terrific gift for someone, or yourself!

For easy paddle with grandkids

A nice stable, comfortable kayak to take the spouse and grandkids out for a day. Room for two adults and a couple small children plus snacks. I looked at several other tandem kayaks and canoes, decided this was best for what I planned to do. As the owner of five other kayaks, I knew what I wanted and this is it.

No regrets great kayak, bought on a wim

Great kayak, tracks well, also works great for solo paddling, (if paddling from the back seat.) 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is a bit heavy. Solidly built and I prefer that, only time weight is an issue is during loading on my vehicle. Overall very happy I bought it from REI. No buyers remorse what so ever.
