Makes everything easier!!
I bought this Yeti Hopper after initially going to REI to purchase the regular cooler. Since I carry all my own gear and I'm not very big, the sales associate recommended the Hopper Two instead since I could wear it over my shoulder. Even completely filled (this bag has tons of space!) it wasn't too heavy to carry. I took it camping with me on a Friday and the contents stayed cold all weekend. I highly recommend this soft cooler!
They got it right
I got this right after it came out. I had the Hopper 20 which I really liked but was too small and too difficult to get into. I found the larger size much better and the redesign perfect. Easy in and out. This is the one to get.
icy awesomeness
I have to say I did a fair amount of research ahead of buying the Yeti Hopper 2 30,and it didn’t prepare me for how unbelievably efficient it is at keeping ice for ungodly amounts of time and keeping food and drinks frosty. I bought the Yeti ICE(4 lb) to use to help cool the cooler and I filled a 2 liter soda bottle with drinking water and then froze it.These two things don’t add much volume at all-and with a 5 lb bag of ice on top of this-sprinkled evenly-it froze with the aforementioned yeti ice and frozen water to create a solid block of ice.It was 100 degrees out and hotter in the truck and on the boat-but my drinks actually began freezing-and my food was frosty all day and night-when I got home-it was difficult to get the ice block out because it all froze together.Life changing!
Too Much Money for average performance
The 2-30 does not leak as promised but beyond that it is just an average soft sided cooler. Ice does not last any longer as far as I can tell. I have filled it and left it in cool areas and the ice is still gone the next day.
Rafting Alaska
I excitedly purchased the Hopper Two 30. After the completion of one trip I was disappointed in the lack of space. Very few items and a bag of ice filled it. Yet the ice did last long ....and even when ice had turned to water...the water stayed very cold. I returned it to purchase the Hopper Two 40. It is no longer available at REI stores. It is a good day tripper...but not enough room for much else.
Great keeping things cold...but very heavy
I am very conflicted with this product. I was very excited to get one. I have used it for couple months but not sure if I will keep it. The cooler is great at keeping drinks cold for at least 2 days. But by 2nd day all the ice was gone, but the drinks were still cold due to cold water. The biggest drawback is the weight. When it is full with drinks and ice, it weighs 30+ lbs. It is very heavy. My wife will not touch it due to the weight. Not sure if we will continue to use it.
You get what you pay for
Yeti! Yup worth it’s money. Took it to my sons first soccer game. Filled with pre chilled drinks, orange slices and 5lbs of ice. It lasted that day at the park and in the back of he car. Most drinks were used during and after the game. Left the yeti in he back of the car all weekend. Monday morning Graber the yeti and it still had cold water. Cold enough to keep the last three beverages ready to take to school and work. Thanks for the great ice chest.
Same as a Walmart cooler
So disappointed! Spent our dividend to get this for a summer road trip with our kids. By the end of the first day half the ice was melted and much of our food was wet and soggy. Yes we drove through Texas on a 98 degree day, but it was only out of the air conditioned car and opened ONCE for about 20 minutes. I don’t see how this is any better than a $20 cooler from Walmart. Will be returning.
Didn't Fit Items For Being So Big
I was surprised how poorly this fit some beers and lunch for me and family (of 4). Seemed real sturdy and insulated, but I really couldn't fit as much as I would have expected into it. Took it back after using it 2x.
This Yeti delivers: Cold & space smart
Had a car stuffed with camping gear with no room for a large cooler, so I took this one. It fit plenty and I could squeeze it in between gear. I added some frozen water bottles on the bottom to keep things cold...days later, they were still partially frozen. This was so incredibly useful; I was worried I'd never use it and now it may be my got to cooler because of the weight and size.
