What a great shoe!
Wow! Just came back from a tour in Peru and Bolivia. Lots of walking and hiking and wore these shoes right out of the box. I was having terrible foot problems already so I figured that my feet would hurt no matter what. What a surprise when I realized that my feet felt great every day and I didn't have any of the regular pain that I had been experiencing every morning, previously. Plus they looked great with jeans and khakis. Just changed into a nice shirt in the evening and wore these shoes out to dinner too. Looked great. Will definitely look for this brand in other type shoes and purchase with REI whenever possible.
Excellent walking shoe!
I purchased this shoe specifically for a trip to Europe that would involve a lot of walking and wanted something other than a tennis shoe. This shoe was extremely comfortable, not heavy at all and held up really well to everything from flat surfaces to cobblestone roads in mid-evil castles. A women next to me in the shoe department gave this shoe a great recommendation and she did not steer me wrong.
Comfortable, perfect fit
The footbed right out of the box was so comfortable I didn't take them off until bed time. That rarely happens since I have a long toe and a narrow heel and shoes are hard to fit. This shoe provides plenty of toe space for not only movement but airflow. The same size also accommodates thinner as well as thicker socks without rubbing anywhere. I highly recommend this shoe and plan on buying again.
Ok casual shoes
An OK all-purpose casual walking shoe that is light weight and doesn't look too gym shoe-ish. Seems to run a little small. I had to go up a half size from my usual. Also had to swap out the insole for another with more arch support. Shoes have a cushioned, almost mushy feel when walking. Not uncomfortable, but I generally do better with a firmer, more supportive foot bed for long walks.
Comfortable, Supportive Shoe
I bought this shoe to wear when I am on my feet for 3-4 hours at a time. I need a comfortable shoe with good arch support & these provide that. I love Ahnu sandles, but have never bought their walking shoes before. I'm very happy with these.
Good All-Around Shoe
So far, this shoe is comfortable out of the box. I was advised to buy 1/2 size larger because the toe is made of cork which I'm told doesn't stretch. I like room in the toe box, but the shoes seem a "little" sloppy. I generally use an innersole, so it's best that I have extra room. It just would be nice not to have to incur the additional expense to get the right fit. I love the look of the shoe and the fact that the leather can be conditioned vs. another canvas shoe that would break down.
Makes walking fun
Great support, roomy toe box, easy walking but you need to try it on because each person's feet are different. Sales staff extremely helpful in choosing the right shoe for you.
Comfortable
Purchased about 3 weeks ago. So far comfortable and holding up well. I walk 3-5 miles per day and 7-10 on the weekends.
Another great shoe by Ahnu
Comfortable right out of the box, true to size and great-looking shoe. I had the Ahnu taravel, and they were nice, but I like this better.
Run small. Nice walking shoe.
Runs true to size if using the US sizing. I wear a 7.5 US, which fit, but that translates to a EU 38.5 on their box, which is half size too big for me, so it depends on what numbers you choose. Toe box a bit narrow. Tapers in at big toe, so may be uncomfortable if you have bunions or other toe issues. Foot bed a little soft for me, like a sneaker, so I switched out to my usual Superfeet women's insole and like the support much better. Insole is easily removable. Shoe strings a bit thin - concerned about long-term wear.
