Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good small kit with room to personalize This is a good basic kit that fits in small packs. The quality of the bag and its contents are good. It is not waterproof. I put anything that would be ruined by water in zip bags. I added better tweezers, small versions of lighter, flashlight, mirror, knife. Also a bandana, blanket pin, lip balm, whistle and compass. I added the meds I would need for three days. I put the excellent booklet in my larger AMK kit that might be used by someone else. I won't leave a review for that one as many of the same comments apply to it as well. I see this as a small survival/med kit that I would try to take with me if I had to leave my main pack for any reason--a portage perhaps. A very good kit but keep it dry and add the things you feel you will need for your next trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little kit! I bought this for day packing, the kit I had took up too much space in my pack. I added a few things like better tweezers, more (different bandages), different meds, but it was more than adequate as bought. Much smaller and lighter than my trauma kit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I bought this for a backpacking trip in Europe - I love that it has some extra room for additional storage (cold medicine, essential oils, water purification tablets, etc.) I love what's in it and the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice First Aid Kit This is a nice first kit to build around. I bought the kit for my daughter and then helped her add those items she deemed necessary for her particular needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preparedness Wouldn't hike without a First Aid kit in the day pack and this one meets my needs. I have a tendency to supplement items from experience but this kit is closure than anything I've found. We have one in both our vehicles and carry one when we travel by train or plane. It also make an excellent gift.

Questions & Answers

I noticed that the weight of this med kit is 7.2 ounces Vs 8 ounces on the ultralight .7. Is that accurate?

Asked by: Roger
The weights are correct. The Mountain Hiker is smaller than the Ultralight & Watertight .7.
