Made in America comfort!
Was strolling through my local REI hoping to score a deal on a new pair of Chaco's. They had a few on sale but then I saw these, with their "American Built" tags and decided to give them a try. I still remember when they were all made in Colorado but I digress... Right away, I noticed how comfortable they were and specifically how soft the straps were and also that they were a tad wider than the pair I wore into the store. After a month in them, I have only one issue - there main strap is too long and drags on the ground. Other than that, I love them and feel good walking around in my US made digs.
very comfortable
I am a female and while the women's shoes were ok, the man's shoe with a wider band really felt good. I walk alot and am on my feet alot at work and they feel great.
A solid Chaco but that buckle can be annoying
I've owned 3 pair of Chacos over the last 11 years - all the non-thong with the back strap. I think they're called the Z series. To be transparent, I got this model because it was an awesome price. I love this sole. Other Chacos I've had had soles that wore out or bubbled up without near as much grip. My only gripe about this style is the strap is wide and the buckle is heavy. If I don't have the straps tightened, and want to wear a more lose, casual fit, then that buckle "bounces" up and down when I walk sometimes and slams into the top of my foot. I've never had another style do that. Anyways - that's about my only gripe on sandals that go about 5-6 years and I wear them all the time.
Wide Straps and Lightweight
My old Chacos are many years old. I wanted something new and the wide straps caught my attention. REI had them reduced so I too them up on the offer. These sandals fell lighter that my older one. The straps beside being wide are not stiff. My foot felt cradled and comfortable immediately. I wear 11 medium.
Great for son's heel pain
Bought these as a great summer option for my 12 year old son. He has had heel growth plate pain for about 8 months now and wears heel cups in his tennis shoes to help with the pain. These relieve his pain in the same manner as his heel cups he wears in his shoes.
Nice sandals
Great sandals. They are the perfect balance not too firm like the older Z1 Chaco's from about 4 years ago and but firmer then the Chaco Cloud's which are too soft and not supportive enough for me. With narrow feet, the wider straps do wrap better around the foot. I ordered a second pair.
Great sandal
Awesome choice for anyone who wants the stability and secure feel of the z2 but doesn't like the toe loop like me. Should be added that the sandal features the Cloud footbed which is lacking in the description.
Replacement Pair
I bought these a couple of weeks ago to have 2 pair. My earlier ones (not the Mega) are the most comfortable "shoes" I own. I wanted to get these in case Chaco quits making them or changes the style or even goes out of business. Once I break these in they'll be my dress sandals and my maybe 4 year old ones will be for everything else. I've mowed the yard, walked laps, and even hiked in Glacier with them.
Be careful
I've been wearing for 5-6 weeks now. It takes some adjustment and getting used to. The right foot settled into the foot bed easily, but the left foot is going much more slowly. Constantly having to adjust Hoping to have it settle in soon.
Great sandal at a great price
Finally convinced my husband to look at a really good sandal for our upcoming vacation. He was very skeptical, but decided to give these a try. Took a little while to break in but now he loves them. And they were on sale at a great price!
