Solid well built with one fault
I've owned Thule and now Kuat racks. I think in general you get what you pay for and this is true for Kuat. Really solid great stuff. BUT one significant issue. The trail doc "bike stand" does help support the bike BUT when in the stand I cannot turn my pedals a full rotation without them hitting the main tray. So its great to get it up to eye level but don't except to do any adjustments where you need to turn the pedals. This is really annoying.

Poor build quality
Plastic part on the wheel well broke after 3-4 uses. REI did not accept a return/exchange as it was a few days over their return date. Pretty disappointing for an expensive piece of equipment.

Great for E-Bikes

Having fenders is no problem, Just drop the arm just in front of the Fender. My E-Bike is 55 lbs & this rack has no problem supporting the weight. Loading my bike is very fast & easy. The front cradle holds the front tire securely & the rear tire sits in a shallow channel. Kuat does offer a ramp witch would make this process even easier. The integrated cable locks are a good way to lock your bike during transport. The Rack over all fills heavy duty & solidly built. Cosmetically it’s very beautifully painted too. Cons, The key hole to the Cable locks has a little spring loaded cover in the hole. So you have to put the key in at a angle to push it out of the way. It took me a Minet to figure that out.

Awesome bike rack

The best bike rack if you want a rack that is secure, carries bikes without damaging paint and the frame, and provides s built-in cable lock system to prevent theft of the bikes.

Spend the money, you won't regret it.

Worth the money, the seat post rack is a little funky if you have a large mountain bike but it will do the trick in a pinch. The overall quality is unmatched and the ability to tighten the rack into the hitch on your car is a crucial aspect I didn't know would be so important. The rack does not rattle at all on the road or over bumps which is a huge step up over other racks.

The Kuat NV 2.0 is a champ!

First I was thrilled that REI had this rack in stock and was able to do an in store pick up in a matter of minutes. The rack was easy to assemble with just a little patience and few tools. I transported my wife’s Trek E-bike 1,100 miles (1,760km) with absolutely no issues. Off load and re-load at my overnight stop was a breeze. I was glad for the integrated lock at gas and rest stops, but didn’t want to test it with an overnight hotel stop. The integrated repair stand was something I was sure I would never use, right until my wife got as complaint that her front brake was rubbing. The stand was great and made the adjustment super easy to execute.

Best Trailer Bike Rack

The best bike rack available. I use it with my three mountain bikes (26 Gary Fischer, 27.5 Santa Cruz Bronson, and 29er Spesh) and road bike (Spesh Tarmac). It’s easy and safe to carry the bikes confidently and safely on my Subie Forester. Easy to remove bikes, secure them, and make adjustments at the trailhead. Best of all, it looks good on the back of my car with that clear coat like finish. I shopped around a lot before I settled on the Kuat NV2.0 and it remains the absolute best tray (or any) bike rack on the market ... easily worth the $700 to transport and secure my very expensive bikes! It’s my first and certainly not last accessory from Kuat!

This is what perfect looks like

When you find a product with beautiful design, that is well made and functions perfectly you just want to stand back and admire it. This rack is just so. Solid as a rock and you can tell the designers / engineers actually use these and fuss over the details. Every piece functions perfectly and it feels like all the wish list items have been addressed (rack doesn't wobble in the hitch, foot operation, EZ but solid bike mount, brilliant bike lock cable, cool looking design). And who knew I needed a built in workstand but of course I do! Bottom line best in class by a mile - it may as well be on EPO compared to the competition.

Dare I say, one very elegant design, great rack!

The Kuat folks really were thoughtful in the design of this rack. From the locking adjustment knob to snug the rack into the hitch like a rock, to the beautiful fit and finish of the rack itself. It's an expensive rack but for our 50lb eBikes it makes taking the bikes with us a snap now. I did also add the new clip-on ramp ($100) to make loading the bikes even easier.

Best Bike Rack Out There!!

I cannot say enough good things about this bike rack. I bought this rack during the anniversary sale and saved 20%. This rack has so many amazing features and benefits it's insane. Cable locks for the bikes, locking hitch pin, and my favorite so far, the trail doc which is a bike work stand attached at the end of the rack for trail side maintenance or repairs. It also tilts down and out of the way of the tailgate when bikes are loaded for vehicle access. If you care about your bike and enjoy being able to set it and forget it, this is your rack! Worth the $$$ 100%

Great but beware exhaust melting!

I love everything about this rack and still give it a 4/5 however, on many cars, this rack is prone to melting if the rack height is the same as the exhaust. Worse, this didn't happen to me, but I read people's bikes were damaged by the same issue. Your options are (1) replacing your exhaust tips so they point down, (2) use a hitch riser, (3) get a different rack. I'm not sure how you check this until you buy it sadly. Here and on the Kuat website I didn't see any warning or guide for how to check or deal with this issue. Luckily, REI was great about the exchange and I'll probably go the hitch riser route because I do love the rack otherwise.

Super strong and super easy!

Well built hitch rack for bikes. We bought this and the add-on to carry four bikes with our 2009 Honda Odyssey. We just leave this rack on the back all the time. Loading bikes is now a breeze. I can load four bikes in a few minutes. Securing them is a breeze as well. There are two points of securement - one hoop like attachment that goes over the front wheel and folds away when not needed; the second is a strap that holds the rear wheel in place on the rack. The racks come with a built in cable lock as well, and it stows away nicely when not in use. We got a hitch from Discount Hitch on our 2009 Odyssey and it works like a charm. The rack folds up when not in use with the pull of a lever. It is definitely on the heavier side. Folding up and down does take some effort. The whole setup with the add-on is probably about 80-90 pounds. The rack has a tilt-down feature that comes in handy when you need to open the trunk. Only con is the weight of the rack. But, good strength comes with weight. This is a well thought out, well designed and well built rack!
