Rated 3 out of 5 by from Larger diameter drinking tube CamelBak introduced a larger diameter drinking tube to allow 20% more water per sip. The main issue with that is that the tube collapses and kinks much easier than the original tube. Secondly the larger diameter tube makes it harder to clip into older hydration bags tube clips. Using this hydration bladder in an older hydration pack as a replacement may not be ideal. It works as advertised on the new bags that are designed around the tubes limitations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsure Camelbak is usually a very dependable brand, but unfortunately I think I may have gotten a defective product. I was very excited to use this on my hiking trip to the ADKs. However once I filled it with water, tightened the seal, and lifted it upright to put it in my pack water began pouring out of it. After looking at it for a while I determined that the leak was the result of a defect. I believe that the opening/handle is not correctly attached to the water pouch. I plan on sending it back in an exchange for a new one hoping that it will be fully-functioning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good just got better! The new design is a lot better than the previous one with some big improvements. The lid seals a lot better. Nothing worse than having a volunteer at an aid station try to get the lid on correctly. This design is fast and easy, so no more water coming down your back when it isn't sealed right. The new valve is awesome, and won't be coming apart like the old design. Thanks Camelbak!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works extremely well for a child I bought this a month ago for a very small child. She drinks out of it everywhere we go best hydration set up. No leaks no mess it's great. And the child can easily operate it. Bonus feature is extremely easy to put in the child's backpack and easy to take out and extremely easy to refill

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality product for a good price I bought this a month ago to replace my Nathan Pack Bladder. It is not a perfect replacement, but I believe that Camelback's mouthpiece is much simpler than Nathan's mouthpiece and it's easier to disassemble. I have never been a fan of the screw-top camelback system, but overall you cannot beat their bladders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CamelBak - new design It fits great. New design. They "improved" twist cap and it takes a few times to really get it secure and avoid leaks. They removed the arms that use to help it drain and air out better. My advise - test is out the day before you need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to clean The design allowing the hose to disconnect from the bladder is awesome! This new design dries much better than the old designs. I recommend also getting the cleaning kit to make sure it dries properly between uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1.5L Reservoir The high quality one comes to expect from Camelbak. Fits perfectly in my old daypack that just doesn't wear out. I think it's the original Camelbak.

Questions & Answers

I have trouble closing the lid. It seems to not line up right with the keyed tabs. Does anyone else have this issue?

Asked by: kayak17
Yes. My son 16yo son used this on an 18 day bike trip and told me that this was an issue. So even though it was closed it would leak. REIservice, this is why a customer spends $60 on this simple bag instead of buying a bag from Target or getting a cheap one on amazon. The threading needs to be aligned and twisted whenever a lid is screwed on. Difficulties with alignment, and subsequent leaking, should not exist with a high end product like this. Also the ring that holds the cap on connects in a flimsy way and it is easy for it to get disconnected.

What are dimensions of this (dry and/or full)? Trying to decide on a functioning reservoir that will fit into framebag (small frame fatbike) for bikepacking? thanks

Asked by: Mukluker
This reservoir measures 11 x 7.5 inches empty.
