Toeing the line as usefulI spent 5 days in Iceland and leaned on this book to plan our day trips. The book does provide good ideas, but severely lacks the details to use as a sole source to navigate or fully execute activities. It contains over-simplified descriptions and lacks detailed maps/directions. You will need additional resources (i.e. travel blogs, maps, or guide books).
Pros: good for getting a grasp of what Iceland has to offer while beginning to scope your trip.
Cons: not detailed enough to fully plan or execute the trip.
I'd recommend this book to folks who need an Iceland 101 read (like I did). Leave this book on the shelf if you already have a few things planned/picked out.

Don't botherThis book was a big disappointment. I spent a month in Iceland and tried using this but found it lacking details- ie maps, descriptions, and photos. It may work for a short 2 day trip, but it didn't provide much useful information or comprehensive cultural context. The maps weren't detailed, the descriptions were generic, and a lot of places that i read about elsewhere or heard from others were not even mentioned.
