Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cold Ankles These tights are not built for tall gals. I am 5'9 and 140 lbs and purchased a large. Large was A) too large and B) too short. Tights that are built for cold weather shouldn't leave an ankle gap! Positives: The outer fabric is durable and has some wind stopping ability. I wore these on a run in 15F weather and felt comfortable once I got moving a little bit. The fleece inside is also super soft, and remains so after washing (hang dry). Also, the meshy pocket on the back is perfect for holding a phone. It sits comfortably against the body and does not bounce around. A+ for that. Negatives: Short inseam. Flimsy drawstring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Winter Warm Tights yet! These are the best winter warm tights yet! I'm 5'6"/150lbs with a muscular build/thick thighs, usually wear a 4-6 in jeans and always a Small in TNF tights (any mediums I have purchased always sag a little). Similar to another reviewer, these tights are incredibly hard to get over your butt, I am slightly afraid they'll rip when I pull them on, BUT, once they're on I LOVE the fit. They're not too tight, but no chance of sagging on a long run. I have the new version in a maroon color and am considering getting the green ones since I do quite a bit of winter running. Highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in these I'm 5'7'', 135 pounds, and I bought these in a medium. My inseam is 28", and with the listed inseam being 28' on these, I thought they'd be the perfect length. Wrong. I had extra fabric bunching all up and down my leg, but the WORST part was the ankle zippers. I don't have thick legs/ankles and I could barely zip them all the way down! Zipping them all the way shut was uncomfortably tight, but if I unzipped them a tiny bit, they unzipped even MORE as I ran. In general, I hate ankle zippers on running pants. Most people get along just fine without them, and all they do is add one more thing that can to chafe or adversely affect comfort. I think these pants need a few more rounds of product testing. Really quite a shame, as I loved them in a lot of respects (lightweight, breathable, comfortable waist and seams, etc).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY small!! The only comment I have is that for me, these leggings ran incredibly small. For reference, I am usually an XS or size 0, I am 5'3", weigh 110 lbs and top heavy; I could not get these tights over my mid-thigh. They were so small and the waist area did not stretch at all without making a ripping sound. I think I may have gotten a defective pair, especially considering no other reviews mention these running small. The material seemed very nice and warm, however, so will order a size up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Favorite Winter RunningTights I live in Flagstaff Arizona where today I'll be running in 9 degrees. Cold! These tights are good on their own to about 15 degrees. Any colder than that and I add another layer. So, very warm tights, very stretchy and very soft and cozy on the inside. My only complaint is that there is a pocket on the front inside waistband that is pretty useless and it does not lay nicely on its own. A little attention to smooth it out is needed. If the pocket was designed better or just not there, I would have given these tights 5 stars. There is a fully functional back zippered pocket. I wear a medium; I'm 5'4" &130 lbs. Athletically built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tight This is a great cold weather tight. I ran in it today with the temp being 17 degrees with the wind chill of 4 degrees. They kept my legs warm but not too warm. I will be buying a few more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked awesome! I coach Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor track in Connecticut. I wanted something that would keep me warm at meets and practice, but not make me melt when I run on my own. These are absolutely perfect! I have used them in wet and dry conditions and loved them! I'm 5' 6" 125 and I ordered a small. They fit perfectly.

I'd love to also know the temp at which these keep you warm, but also understand if you are just walking at that temperature (not full out exercising like running). Thanks!

If this version is similar to the older version of this tight, then it is good by itself for running around 30-40 degrees, in my opinion. In cooler temps (or even early season in those temps, before I'm used to it), I would pair them with a simple shell (I use Marmot precip pants) to add about 10 degrees of comfort and more wind protection. The version of this tight that I have is a kind of fleece with a smooth finish (not a full wind-proof layer but a subtle protection). They are long enough for me 5'8, so they are one of the longer pairs of running tights that I've found. I also use them as a baselayer for skiing... I may buy this newer version this year, but my old pair is still going strong several years later.

How low of temperature can these runner tights be effective to you warm?

Asked by: Fearlessmountain875
We do not provide temperature ratings on clothing because warmth depends on so many different variables including activity level, metabolism, perspiration as well as the other clothing layers you are wearing.

Are these water repellent/resistant? Will this keep me dry rolling around in the snow or hiking misty waterfalls?

Asked by: Orange
These tights are not water resistant nor waterproof. Due to the nature of the fabric, they may be slightly water resistant but not enough that they will stay dry in the snow.
