Quick an easy installation and sharp looking.
This is a very good looking bicycle rack, it is incredibly sturdy and well built. Even the Yakima sticker is a high quality reflector. Every consideration was taken when they designed this thing. I have bought cheap bicycle carriers and they end up damaging your vehicle or bicycles. It is not the lightest or smallest but it is very sturdy and inspires confidence, so much that I drove my car like a maniac through twisty roads and some cobble stone streets and my bikes were fine, and more importantly, not a scratch to my trunk. What I do is that I apply spray on wax to the areas where the surfaces of the carrier will touch the paint, and I make sure the rubber surfaces of the carrier and also the trunk itself is very clean. I clean everything first with Windex and a microfiber cloth. I assume that carrying road bicycles is easy, but I have girls and wife, and their bicycles are cruisers, so they are odd shaped and large. Even so I was able to fit all three, although you do need one of the Yakima bars made for odd shape bicycles. Make sure to visit the REI website stated on the manual to use the correct setting for the angle, I had it wrong at first, it was a lot better when using the suggested one (2 for a KIA Optima).
Very nice and convenient but some concerns
First of all let me say for a lot of SUV owners without hitches like me (2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited) this is about the only option available for racks. Overall it is a very good option. There are a few concerns though and I will get to that. First though the positive. This is very sturdy and well made. The rack is thick and solid but not too heavy to put on and take off. It also folds easily and can be stored in any trunk or hatch. Once you understand how, it is very easy to install and remove. Bikes also fasten very easily to the rack and with little worry of coming undone with the really nice zip fasteners. Again, this is a very nice product. Now two concerns: 1. While the zip fasteners and arms of the rack are padded with rubber to protect your bike, the anti-sway fastener is not. It is hard plastic and can and will scratch your frame. This can be fixed by adding some stick on pads, but still not the best design. 2. The bigger concern is that there is no security measures at all to keep this entire rack system and potentially everything on it from being taken off your car. Simply by loosening and removing the securing straps attaching it to the inside of your car will free the entire rack up to be stolen. This is a big design flaw and one that hopefully Yakima addresses at some point. Again, while these issues exist, I would still not hesitate from buying this rack. While not perfect, it is convenient, dependable, well made, and reasonable. Still an excellent choice for those without a hitch.
Works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very sturdy bike rack. This bike rack worked amazing for us. We ended up traveling over 2,000 miles with it and we never had a problem. It was incredibly sturdy and easy to take on and off. It also never took the paint off our Outlander we had no damage what so ever. The only thing I may suggest is having someone there to help you install it's hard to hold up the rack and attach the clips to your trunk door

It’s sturdy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bike rack is awesome!! It’s pretty easy to set up. I’ve got mine on the back of my Mini Cooper S. This bike rack is very sturdy. It fold up out of the way when it’s not in use. It holds three bikes with no issue. It’s definitely better than my other bike rack. I would recommend this bike rack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love how easy this is to use! It’s a little heavy, so make sure you can have someone help you put it on your car if you can’t do so yourself. But I like that it’s heavy because that means my bikes won’t fall off. Can’t wait for the warmer weather to install it to my car!
Fairly easy to mount on

It was very easy to load my bikes onto the rack, but I don’t feel secure enough to drive long distances (my own insecurities). Overall it’s a good bike rack, does its job right.
