Satellite Communicators

Personal locator beacon vs. satellite messenger

• Choose a personal locator beacon if you primarily want an emergency SOS device, don't need two-way communication, and want to avoid subscription costs.
• Choose a satellite messenger if you regularly venture beyond cell coverage and want features like two-way messaging, navigation, weather or location sharing.

For satellite messengers, also consider

• Messaging: Do you need one-way or two-way messaging?
• Device integration: Do you want the device to pair with your smartphone?
• Subscription costs: Factor in ongoing subscription costs.
