Which class of e-bike do you want?
- Class 1 e-bikes provide motor assist only when you pedal, up to 20 mph.
- Class 2 e-bikes have pedal-assist up to 20 mph; they also offer throttle power that doesn't require pedaling.
- Class 3 provides assist when you pedal, up to 28 mph.
What type of bike do you want?
Electric bikes come in many formats including mountain, urban, cruiser, cargo and folding bikes.
Consider motor power
Motor power is measured in watts (W) and range from 250W to 750W. E-bikes with higher watts offers better acceleration, climbing and hauling performance.
Consider battery capacity
A higher watt hours (Wh) number indicates greater battery capacity, which gives you more riding time between charges.
An electric bike, or e-bike, is equipped with a battery and a small electric motor to assist you in pedaling faster and farther.
