Sun hoody is decently breathable, has thumb loops, and a helmet compatible hood. All pros. The chest zipper tab is ridiculously small to the point that it’s difficult to open with bare hands let alone gloves. However, the biggest con is the small hood that only gives partial face coverage when wearing a helmet. This makes it a poor sun hoody for glacier travel. If the zipper tab were bigger and the hood bigger it would be the perfect hoody. Unfortunately, the only sun hoody that met all these requirements was discontinued so I continue to look for a suitable replacement

I have owned my OG Alpenglow hoodie for years and it has never wronged me. Decided to give the Pro one a try and boy I am disappointed. To start on a good note: It fits very well and looks nice Now for the bad: The material started pilling everywhere.. and I mean everywhere. And this is after one hike. You cannot run up against anything without the material catching and ripping or having a seam come out. If you are using it in the outdoors like all of us are, we can’t have a hoodie that is not durable. The OG is 100x better

For the price this is a 1 star product. Extreme pilling all over this garment and I don’t put it in the dryer. The stitching around the zipper shrinks and pulls it in causing it to just look funky. But yeah this thing is caked in pilling very unfortunate.

I’m always a medium. For this shirt I needed a small (5’10”/145lbs) The shirt is nice and does what it supposed to. I wish I could have given it 5 stars, but the best I can do is 2. For the price, the shirt is way too fragile. Get too close to a branch, you have a pull. Wear a backpack or Camelbak and everywhere the bag touch the shirt, the surface is destroyed. So, nice shirt, I like it, but after one full day of use, it already looks horrible.

I ride, run, kayak and overnight in all conditions. I wanted a chest zip for my phone and a hoody. I’m tired of cheap gear that is super expensive. Zipper failed within a month and hood design is terrible. While running when down it flops over my shoulder. It retains moisture and doesn’t wick or dry fast. It also retains smell. It’s one thing if it was $20 but seriously this sucks.

The material is stretchy, and grey. Made mostly from nylon, it seems durable, I like the zipper when it gets too hot. I thought the hood could be better, maybe with a tension string. The vents across the arms are amazing. This is a very nice shirt, my only complaint is the price mostly. I was able to buy it on discount at REI during memorial day.

Great hoodie for bikepacking. Served well so far on a 3 week trip MT to BC to WA. Kept me from using a lot of sunscreen. Great ventilation under arms and the zippered neck is perfect. The little chest pocket will fit a phone or wallet in a pinch but I use it for my headphones when they’re not in use.
