Light and airy

[Employee of mountainhardwear] Light, super comfy, and very breathable! Love the colors and the fact it has UPF sun protection. Great for using on afternoon descents to protect from sun rays while also making sure you don't overheat. I run sweaty but this piece wicks sweat so well! Such a great piece.

Not Breathable - Steamy

I purchased this item for active summer activities based on the first marketing line in the product description: "Pushing through fast-paced, sun-drenched days on the open trail is no sweat in the Sunshield... that will keep you feeling fresh in sweltering conditions". However, I found that this doesn't breathe well at all, traps heat and leads to a steamy/balmy feel, increasing my body temp/heart rate, leading to further sweating. I think if worn at sunny temps below 70 it would be a solid layer, but is way too warm for anything in the 80s+ in my opinion - assuming you're looking for an item that breathes. I wish I would have purchased another crater lake instead. It also rides up on the wrists and doesn't provide the sun protection a garment with thumbholes might. Aside from it not working out for the use I intended, it is a comfortable stretchy material and nice looking shirt. 2 stars because I felt it was marketed too heavily as an active layer for warm conditions and I don't think that's accurate.
