Feels like I reconnected with an old friend. My Halle Straight Pants are an updated of a similar pair of prAna pants I wore 12ish years ago! The stretch material is new to this update so I ordered my true size which is an 8 regular. Within minutes they fit like a glove and I absolutely love the inter draw string to tighten up the low rise waisteband. They are going to be perfect for an upcoming trip to Europe and everyday wear. If you plan to use them for a rugged activity, I can see where they could snag if you sat on ruff surfaces but this is not my plan. For size reference, I am 59 years-old, 145# and 5’9”.
I love these pants!!! I have been purchasing Halle pants for years but just found the Halle Straights this past year. They are so comfortable! I now have them in smokey blue, black and most recently dark khaki. I love the rise and the back pockets. I like the draw string/cord because I have a small waist. They are a little big in the buttock and thigh area when I stand up but feel good when I sit down. The only thing that I wish was better about the Halle and Halle Straights is the thread that is used to sew on the buttons at the waist. The buttons on every pair of Halle’s I have ever owned end up loosening and then falling off. I usually notice it happening so I put it in the zip pocket on the leg so I can see it back on later. I wish prana would use stronger thread. Otherwise, they are great.
I love the original halle straight pants. I have a rough job and they have never snagged or torn over many years. I lost a few pounds lately, and wanted to buy in a smaller size. So, there are a few differences. Pockets are improved! Critical flaw though. The zipper (and surrounding harder parts) are longer than the original, only by around an inch, but its enough that it bunches up and makes me look like I have dude parts. Im so bummed, these are my favorite pants. If you can fix this i’ll be back for more!! Just shorten that zipper by an inch or two.
I love these pants, except the pockets are worthless. I cannot fit my cell phone in the front pockets or the zipper pocket on the leg. It's a regular-sized smartphone. I can't even fit my car keys (which consist of a car key, house key, and bottle opener) in my front pocket without fear of it migrating out. I could theoretically fit my phone in my back pocket, but the snaps would scratch the screen. Anyway, the pants feel lovely and I ended up buying two pairs. I'm just stuck holding my phone or putting it in a bag instead of having it easily accessible like I would prefer. Dear Prana: Women like usable pockets. Please redesign your pants to accommodate.
I’d been searching for a hiking pant for years. I’m a size 24 waist so many brands don’t carry my size. I hit the jackpot with this pant! They fit so well and are the perfect pant for stretch, breathability, and style on the trail. I wore these in Peru while hiking the Inca Trail. They were warm enough for the cold early morning starts and also provided enough air for the hot afternoons on the trail. I love that they come in Long, as well, providing extra material around my ankles to keep dirt and bugs out from my boots. The fabric was comfortable with plenty of stretch to handle all the crazy steps on this trail. I live the zipper and button close pockets - keeps the small items like chapstick and coca leaves easily accessible. I’ve finally found my go-to hiking pants!
The fit of these is so comfy with just the right amount of stretch. The straight leg is better for me as it just looks cuter. The back pockets make you look good and are very flattering. I feel thin in these pants. I wore these a lot in Mongolia and they stayed clean and comfy. You can roll them up if you want capris. Really love these pants. I wear a size 6 and I'm 130 lbs, 5'6 with about 38-39" hips. They fit when I'm 5 pounds lighter, too, they are a forgiving fit.
I have several pairs of these and the regular Halle pants. They're fantastic for my work as a physical therapist but I have 2 issues with them: the "large" side pocket isn't quite big enough for my phone, so I end up sticking it in the back pocket, where it's in danger of falling out or being sat on and I worry the buttons will scratch my phone. The other big issue is that the tall lengths of these aren't the same as the original Halle pant. I'm 5'9" with long legs (a perfect inseam would be 34") and the other Halle reaches past the tops of my shoes and is even a touch too long. These barely reach my shoes when I'm standing, and when I'm sitting, they ride up so all of my ankles are showing. It just seems pointless to offer a "tall" length that fits like a regular length. In fact, when I measure 2 different colors of the 8T straight leg, they barely come to 32"!
I ordered two pairs of these pants at the beginning of the summer after no luck finding comfortable and breathable hiking (and climbing) pants, time after time. These were perfect! Im 5’8 135 lbs. I’m usually a size 6 but ordered a size down in 4 long after reading reviews.. They’re very comfortable and easy to move in. I love that there is a drawstring also to tighten up the waist area.
Great fit and design. But from the first 2 pairs to the second 2 pairs, the zippers were no longer the same high quality as before. The teeth on the zippers often get stuck and do not run as smoothly as previous pairs. Only other complaint is that the material in between legs rubs and frays. It's too bad there isn't better fabric there.
These pants are NOT mid rise. They are low. I’m frustrated that I paid for shipping when they are not as advertised. I’m really disappointed that the Halle Pant II is not available anymore. They are perfect for me for work and hiking. I wish I’d bought 4 more paints last year. It’s so hard for me to find tall pants that fit well,
