I own 8 pairs of these pants. Yes, 8. They are all I wear. HOWEVER, PrAna is beginning to concern me, in terms of quality control. I have not grown, gained, or lost weight in the 5 years that I've been buying these pants, and yet, I've had to go back and forth between the REG and SHORT inseams. First, regular fit perfectly. Then, a few years later, they were 2" too long, so I started buying short inseams. Now, with the pair that I just got in the new flax color, the short inseam is 2" shorter than the other short inseams I have! Please stop changing the sizing, PrAna! Now I have to exchange these pants online! Also, the buttons on the last three pairs that I bought have fallen off. I have since sewed them back on. I hope the quality is not slipping. These photos show an example of the old short inseam (grey color) compared to the new short inseam (flax color).
I’m really sad that they changed the fabric on these pants and some of the others. These were my absolute favorites and unfortunately ones that I have bought in the last year or so have not held up as well as ones that I still have from many years ago. The new ones pill after just a few washings and the seams are fraying within a year of wearing. Please bring back the other more durable fabrics that we love and are what makes Prana a great durable brand, especially with your increasing costs. I won’t be buying any more at these high prices when they don’t last for more than a year at best.
I’m SO SAD that the design for these has changed. I’ve always gravitated toward the Halle pant for required khakis at work. I started buying them in 2015 and have adjusted between sizes 8, 10, and 12 as I’ve had kids, postpartum, and recovery. They were all consistent and flawless until this recent purchase of 3 pairs of 10s. The color is different, the pocket doesn’t hold my phone anymore, and the fit around the inseam is baggier. I’m comparing the exact same pants from 2 years ago to now and am super disappointed in the changes.
I was excited, after a long wait, to have a 0-SHORT Halle pant become anvailable. It seemed that the smallest pants are always sold out. I have enjoyed the same pant for a couple of years, so I was happy to have a pairt in a different color. I have a slow progressing form of ALS. So dexterity is an issue. Thus, I was disappointed that I had to cut the button holes larger to be able to button and unbutton the pants. I also miss the rubber zipper pull, as it never got stuck at the bottom of the zipper Lastly, I was disappointed that the length of the “short” pants is about 1 1/2 inches longer than my original Halle pants.
I bought these pants for years and they were my absolute favs! Fit and fabric so great. Then I ordered some more and the fit has changed so much that even size 2 is too big!! The rise is longer and the hips are bigger. I haven't changed and my old pants still fit great. The new fabric is not good either. Go back to the old fabric and fit please!
These were recommend to me so I gave them a try. Love them! I'm 5'5" 154 lbs, I bought a size 10 regular. If anything, they may be slightly more roomy than my normal size 10's but I like it for being able to move freely. Great quality, you get what you pay for here.
I loved my first pair (moonstone 6 tall) but, I ordered the black and they are 3 inches longer and the rise is a bit shorter. Sadly, I’ll have to return them. I wish they were the same because I love the first pair and wear them all the time.
I hate buying pants. I always seem to be between sizes, lengths, and cut. I am 5'8'' and about 155 lbs, with a thicker curvy/athletic build (and a middle aged middle). But these pants fit me perfectly so have bought 3 pairs- all size 10 in the regular (32") length. You can roll them up to be a capri length but I find the rolled fabric too bulky and thick like that so I cut and hemmed one pair to be a mid-calf length and can roll them up comfortably if I want them to be a little shorter. These pants look professional enough to wear for my day job then I can go straight to my coaching job in the evening or wear them for a hike on the weekend.
While I like the overall look and quality of the pants, my main problem with them is that the regular length is too short but the tall is WAY too long. I'm a 5'8" woman and have long legs, so finding hiking pants long enough to fit me (especially after washing) is difficult. I was excited to find the Halle pants, but when I got the size 4 Tall, they were much too long. The regular inseam is 32" and the tall is 36" - four inches difference is just too much. It's the first pair of pants I've bought that are just too long for someone as tall as me. Otherwise, great pants. If you could fix to, say, a 35" inseam I'd buy them in every color.
I've owned about 6 pairs of the original Halle pants. Last year, I bought two pairs of the Halle II pants. They had a weird thin wrinkly fabric and bunched up fit. I was so very sad and returned them. This season, I saw that the original Halle was back and was admittedly skeptical but so happy when I received them and tried them on. As in the past, I ordered size 8, 30 inch inseam (short). The length and cut are just like the originals. They are maybe just a smidge bigger in the hips but not enough to go down a size. I think I recall the originals shrinking a little after one wash and dry, so I'm hoping that happens with these. Thank you Prana!
