more like a handkerchief
My fault I didn't look at the specifications to see how small it was -- It's not a "towel" at all, it's a little smaller than a bandana. What I did NOT excpect is how thin the material is. Very thin, like a cotton handkerchief or bandana, which I've already got plenty of, and just about as absorbent. It does dry quicker than cotton though. Best use is probably after washing my hands in a public restroom, or wiping my face after a run, or as a napkin.
Perfect travel washcloth
I was looking for a small travel towel which I could use for a washcloth on a long trip to Europe (most European hotels don’t have washcloths). This little towel worked out perfectly. After a shower I’d give it a thorough rinse, and hang it up to dry. By the time I got to up in the morning, it was bone dry and ready to use again. It packs down super tiny in its little bag, and takes up virtually no room in my suitcase. Perfect solution for my trip!
Perfect for hiking
This little towel is perfect for its intended use, to hang off my pack while hiking. Yes, it is small, but that is why I bought it. It clips to the shoulder strap, softer than a bandana and smaller. If you are looking for a hand towel, or a towel for jumping in a lake, this is not it. But if you want a convenient, soft, quick drying MINI towel for hiking and backpacking then I highly recommend. It comes with a very lightweight carabiner as well.
has sticker applied that leaves sticky residue
The towel seems nice enough. It’s light and the orange color is highly visible. It’s fairly thin and I like that it has a hang-point built in to dry it out easily. I don’t care about the included carry pouch, that’s just extra (albeit tiny) weight. But, the pouch has its own hang-point as well as a clip to attach the towel to it inside. The main issue is that it comes with a sticker applied to the towel fabric which, when removed, left adhesive behind. It’s sticky even after a wash and will collect dirt. The adhesive transferred to skin and to a piece of plastic that I wiped with it (solely to see if it would). The sticker is applied above the REI branding on the towel, about 2 inches up and 3 inches over from the nearest corner. The residue is also somewhat visible, but that isn’t a major concern for me. Since I intend to use this as a “kitchen” towel, the best way to fix this will be to cut a 2 inch strip off the towel to prevent the collection of dirt/debris in that spot, and the transfer of adhesive to my food-contact surfaces.
REI shipping does not work. They say items aren’t.
Again, these items have not been delivered! I ordered these as a gift for my friend!
