Almost perfect, very satisfied.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have an original Apex Bionic Hoodie, I travel for work and wear it everywhere. I love it but wish it were longer. My initial impressions so far: ABH_03 is 1" longer. Feels thinner / more breathable. Shell is less stiff, but I like the stiffer shell of ABH_01. Might be less warm in 20-30 degree weather, compared to ABH_01, but we'll see... For ABH_04, would like to see: -2" longer (sleeves are perfect, though) -Draw-string cuffs -Hidden thumb loops -A secret pocket for Tricot gloves that hangs them vertically and keeps 'em flat. Also would like to see an Apex Bionic Tri-Climate or parka, maybe.
Svelte, slim fitting waterproof hoodie
This hoodie is perfect for those of us who hate bulky jackets yet crave the warmth of a good lining and water tightness. Fabulous build quality; from the sealed seams to the high quality fabric, it's a complete winner.
Yes, I would
I've used this product during the winter time. I just put on a hoodie underneath usually between September and December and I love the jacket. I've had it for years. Definitely takes away the chill air.
Not what it used to be
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No velcro strips on the wrist, and the wrist are wide, no cinch on the waist of the jacket. But the material is very nice. Not sure why they removed the velcro and cinch, weird...
My second one
I had the original of this jacket and loved it. Unfortuntely it was lost on a trip two years ago, and I have wanted to replace it ever since. Luckily I knew the size I needed and it was super easy to reorder again. This new one looks and feels as great as the original. The material feels ever so slightly thinner and stiffer (ie less warm) I'm not sure if it's slightly less lining inside or the outer fabric has depreciated in quality. It's not enough to be a problem and I am still happy with the purchase. If you never owned the original you wouldn't notice/mind.

High-quality jacket, very comfortable for everyday wear.
Nice jacket, but could be assembled better.
I used to have one of these jackets from long ago (or a predecessor) and it was a much more high tech piece of clothing than this version. Nonetheless, the windblocking and warmth are fantastic, especially compared to similar jackets from Patagonia and OR. My two design gripes are: the hood is quite small (not tight, it just doesn't come up all the way over your head) and it has a bulky, ugly seam across the chest that makes the jacket bunch in a way that is less flattering than a flat chest would be.
Most versatile jacket I've ever owned.
I've worn this jacket for two years before writing this review. It's become an essential travel piece for me when the temperature drops. It's hard to pack a bulky winter coat when you plan on using multiple forms of transportation on a trip. This coat, with layering is all you need. I've worn it from 0-60 Fahrenheit in wind and precipitation. Skiing in Japan, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, checking out a new city. I've always stayed warm and dry.
Good purchase
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a size M in this jacket. I'm sizing down from my normal size L because the L size feels too big in the body and the sleeves feel too long generally. My arms are not short. For reference, I'm 5'11" and weigh 175 lbs and normally wear a size 42R sportcoat and a size 16x35 dress shirt and normally wear size 31 jeans. I'll describe this jacket in size M for me as very 'fitted' in that it 'just' fits in the shoulders, is pretty form fitting in the body, and hugs with waist line. It's 'not long' at all. Sleeves are 'good' -- not too short although they creep up a tad when I extend my arms. All of this is good for me in terms of fit. I do not intend to try to layer this and will wear t-shirts underneath on a cool day or a rainy day. This size will not give room for layering but like I said I don't intend to. The fabric has a slight stretch and this is a lightweight jacket. Overall, fit, quality, and look is excellent in my view.
Not as Described. Missing some basic features.
I use this type of jacket for everyday use and when I go on trips, always in my truck or with me. The fit is okay the material is okay too. Does not feel as durable as the older jackets. The description states that it has a cinch cord at the hem, well IT DOES NOT. The sleeves don't have Velcro like the older jackets and are wide. Essentially if you are in windy conditions you will be losing body heat as the wind will enter directly under the sleeves and by your waist. Not sure why they would not include these basic features. For the price point it is expected. The hood fit well. Let's see if it actually holds up. Competitors have similar jackets with the missing features. If it wasn't because I am going away and don't have time to order a different jacket and have it on time then I would have returned this one and went with a competitors version. I would not recommend unless they add the basic features. TNF please correct the description.
