Bought this tent for a me and my bestie 🐶 cross-country road trip and off-roading/camping adventure in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. Find your camping spot, pop four latches, connect the ladder, and you're ready to relax in less than 10 minutes. Very easy for one person to pop open and re-close when it's time to go. Lots of options for adjusting the screens and storm flaps depending on conditions, and I found the 3" memory foam mattress to be really comfortable. One campsite was at 12,000 feet and it got down into the low 40's at night. Sleeping with all the storm flaps closed to stay warm, there was a lot of condensation inside in the morning, but it dried up pretty quickly once the sun came up and flaps were opened again. The couch feature was pretty nice to relax with and enjoy our views. I was little worried about how I'd get my medium-sized dog up the ladder and into the tent, but with a lifting harness on him, I'd boost him 2/3 the way up and hold his rear end while he continued the climb. Once he figured out the mission, he was totally committed and loved it up there. Getting down was a little trickier, I'd have to do a gentle one arm swing from roof height to about 2/3 to ground level and he'd hop down the rest of the way. We randomly last-minute camped on the beach at a reservoir in Nebraska. It was so quick and easy for one person to open and close the tent, it opened up possibilities that a time-consuming ground tent or more difficult roof tent would have prevented. There was an issue with some whistling at highway speeds, but I easily fixed this by running a some duct tape along the front bottom edge of the tent. Totally recommend this roof top tent, especially for solo travellers.

I wanted a rtt and I found the Thule widesky online. I looked at others but I liked the way the Thule opened, it has interior lights and I thought the sofa was nice. So I bought one and had it installed a few weeks ago. I went right in a road trip and spent over a week camping in various spots. The bed is not bad after you get used to it. I’m gonna look for an upgrade though. You can only leave minimal blankets in the tent when it is closed. The tent does form condensation so I just let it breathe in the mornings to dry. I recommend you buy the condensation mat. Just like any tent, the sun hitting it warms it up quick. It did not rain on my trip so I have nothing to offer there. When driving, the tent was quiet, no whistling. Don’t even know it was there.
