Great pack with a few flaws

I bought this pack specifically for the runner vest style front straps and pockets set up, and it did not disappoint! I have weak shoulders and back, and this has by far been the most comfortable pack I’ve ever used. I love the double sternum straps and the hip straps are super supportive. I was able to carry my usual day hike gear, alongside about eight pounds of camera equipment up 2200 feet of elevation through decent snow with no issues. There are some downsides though. First, the lack of internal pockets was disappointing. The size of the pack overall is fine, but there is only one large pocket with one small internal pocket and a small stasher/easy grab pocket, which was not enough for me. I would have liked to compensate with the side bottle pockets, but both are open on one side, so I couldn’t use these pockets for small items, as they would have fallen out. The lack of pockets meant everything had to go in the large pocket and it basically had to be unpacked each time I needed something from inside. I also wish the top opening was a zipper closure instead of a pull and hook closure, it just isn’t as convenient to use and it didn’t feel as secure. Finally, I wish the hydration pouch pocket was more flexible. It is very hard to fit a hydration pouch of any size, even without water inside, into this pocket and I ended up not using a hydration pouch on my last trip because of it. I don’t think these flaws are dealbreakers though and I found workarounds for the issues I had, so it has turned out to be a pretty great pack for me.
