The Lithium 15 backpack contains all of the features and functions of a larger hiking bag, but in a convenient size for day trips or air travel. I recently used this on a multi-leg cross-country trip where I needed a compact bag for airlines and for quick hiking around local trails. The small size was perfect for the plane, while the features such as chest and waist straps, hip belt packets, and integrated rain fly (!!!) came in handy. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a small bag to supplement their normal backpacking and/or travel gear. You won't be disappointed with the build quality or features packed into this 15L gem!
Small, breathable, but can pack a days worth of food, water, and light gear in it! Great little pack for a day hike. I’ve wanted something for a while that I can pack 2-5L of water, food, socks, and even a hammock for short haul hike 3-5 miles, but it not be a bulky/heavy pack. In the alps a 3 hour hike can easily hit 4-5000 ft of elevation gain, so a light, versatile pack was the goal. This pack does me good!
For years I used my Black Diamond BBEE as a small go along bag, but after 10+ years of abuse it started tearing. The search for other substitutes was attempted, but not seemed to fit the bill until I got the Lithium 15. A little larger than the BBEE, it also does well on work trips where I'm in and out of boats, riding ATVs, and wading small creeks in the same day. A common companion for winter fat bike rides, and long lift assisted winter pow days where I wanted an extra set of gloves, water bottle, and a sandwich for the afternoon. The built in rain fly worked well today in the rain and sleet at alyeska. Has also been a companion in European market shopping, New Mexico and Alaska day hikes, and mucb more.
Perfect size and composition for hiking trips!
I have trouble bearing weight on my shoulders and for this reason prefer even small loads be distributed to my hips instead. However, it's extremely rare to find a small pack with a waist belt. I'm thrilled to have this as an option because it allows me to for example carry a large bottle of water on a hike along with other basics while not dragging along an excessively large pack. I'm also a fan of the color.
This bag is lightweight, sturdy and the perfect size. It works great for a climbing day, short hike, and even travel through airports. It looks flashy too. The small pouch on top works great for quick access items and the zippers don't catch. The phone pouch actually did come in handy for a day hike with a full sized iPhone.
I originally got this pack for day hikes, snowboarding, and multi-pitch climbs, but I found myself using this pack for my travels as well b/c it's a great size pack and it'll fit my 13" macbook. The pack looks amazing and is well-constructed. One thing I also love is that it came with a rain cover.
Used this pack for dayhiking around Moab for a week. After 40 some miles, it was just as comfortable at the start of the week. Used a 3L Camelbak reservoir and had plenty of space left over for extra layers and snacks. Great for hikers of all skill levels and sizes.
Good smaller pack for day hikes or weekend trips out of town. I do like the phone pocket for hikes as mentioned previously. I like being able to pull the waist strap out for use when flying or throwing in the car for overnight.
I like it for day hikes to throw a jacket, water, and some munchies for me and pupper. It might fit a laptop for air travel?. It rides well and is very light without causing a lot of sweat.
