I already had this pack in the 28L size, so I knew from experience I'd love it. Great construction, aesthetics, and price from REI. What really sets all the Gregory Zulu packs out is the supreme comfort. The VaporSpan back panel is a wonder to behold. Even on the hottest days, feeling that breeze hitting your back while you're wearing a pack is a sublime experience. Additionally, the comfort of the straps and everything else is perfect. While wearing the 28L, I found myself taking loosening the hip belt because the shoulder straps were plenty to carry the substantial weight I was taking on my hike. The pack does have a slightly "odd" shape to keep the main body from touching your back and giving the wind plenty of space to come in, but it's 100% worth it.
