I love this jacket – so comfy! I ordered it oversized because I wanted it to feel like a comfy sleeping bag, and it does! I normally wear an extra small or small, but went with a medium for extra room. It’s very comfortable and versatile. I wore it in the mid 60s and wasn’t too hot, and in the low 50s and stayed warm. For tent camping, this jacket is great because it can almost double as a mini sleeping bag. One night, I used it to cover my 20 pound dog, and he approved. On a colder night, I actually wore the jacket to sleep with my sleeping bag partially unzipped so my dog could snuggle with me, to keep each other warm. The puffy hood is warm and comfortable, and actually works better than my sleeping bag hood. I also like the drawcord at the bottom of the jacket…. you can snug it up when you want to keep the warmth in, which is nice on cold days and nights. I got the jacket in white, which is cute, but not the most practical color for a backpacker or a tent camper. I’d recommend the darker colors for the grittier person who expects their gear to get dirty. Extras: the interior pockets are huge and can easily hold gloves, a beanie, and a phone, while the zipper exterior pockets are good and comfy for keeping your hands warm and your stuff secure. Environment: I like that it has a DWR finish made without PFAs to help moisture beat up on the surface, plus it has recycled materials and materials that meet bluedesign criteria. The Brand: It’s from a climate label certified brand.: REI. I love REI because their return policy is lenient so if you end up getting the wrong size, they will accept a return, even after you’ve worn the item. Overall, a very comfortable cute universal jacket. 5 out of 5 stars.👏🏼
I really like this jacket. It feels very warm and cozy without being heavy. I am kind of between a medium and large in most jackets and I went with the large this time to make sure I have room for layers underneath. It's plenty roomy and I appreciate the extra length to keep out cold air. It is really poofy! If that isn’t your thing, I would look for something else, because this is a big puffy marshmallow coat. I got the cloud white color, which is actually a tiny bit darker than it looks in the photos. I think this is more of a casual coat due to the light color, the somewhat delicate fabric, and the puffiness. It's not something I would carry in a pack or wear deep into the woods (although it would make a great backpack pillow). I haven't tested it in true cold weather yet, but I think it will be perfect for walking the dog through the Michigan winter. The pockets are great; they are large and could easily fit gloves or a hat. The hood is also nice and big, but I do wish it had a drawcord. Overall, would recommend!
Very warm and cozy. Pockets are big enough for my hands - not always a given on women’s jackets. The fit is cozy without being bulky - enough to get a mid layer underneath comfortably but still would be trim enough to wear around town after a hike. I like the color - an off white. So far so good after a month of keeping clean. The weight of the jacket is a bit on the heavier side - you can find lighter jackets but definitely not at this price point. The jacket weight is in no way a concern - just making a note. Jacket seems durable and able to handle some mild brushing against brambles and whatnot without any visible wear. Overall a great jacket - warm and seemingly durable. Great color and fit.
This is a real winter jacket with generous down fill. I was very warm wearing this in the cool desert nights. The elasticized interior pocket is nice for stewing larger items and the exterior pocket is handy for anything that needs more security. There is a hem drawcord to trap all the heat inside. There is no drawcord on the hood. The build feels sturdy, high-quality and what I expect from REI.
Perfect fit, warmth and overall feel. I am looking forward to the cold winter months where I can actually use this bad boy! It’s lightweight yet warm and doesn’t feel bulky!
