Decided to run errands in these pants first time wearing, as I usually wear hiking tights and wasn’t sure about switching. The day was in the 80’s but didn’t feel hot in pants. I have to say I am impressed, they are extremely comfortable with a gentle stretch to allow for unrestricted movement. Lightweight, but nice structure to the pant as to not show undergarments. The number of well sized pockets for a women’s pant is impressive, but didn’t feel bulky. I love the color as I prefer darker shades for outdoor activities. I am 5’5” and have large upper thighs, the fit was spot on for me and the added knee seems allowed for a more tailored fit. Strongly suggest trying on or order a size down if you are a slender build.
These pants are solid hiking pants with some cool features and a nice fit. Fit: I am normally a 4 short. These 4 regulars aren’t overly long on me. They are more flattering than some hiking pants I’ve tried in the past. They stretch well and don’t restrict movement, and the waist is comfortable. Fabric: the fabric feels pretty durable and also has a nice stretch to it. I think they will hold up well to brush without being overly heavy and hot. They seem to breathe pretty well, and the grey color is nice. Features: having zippers on the pockets is nice to not lose stuff. The rear pockets aren’t as flattering looks wise, but are more functional. Overall a solid hiking pant!
I wore these pants on a hike in August and was impressed by how lightweight and breathable they were. They provided full coverage to help keep ticks, poison ivy, etc. away without making me feel overheated. When I first saw them, I thought they looked gigantic like they would be too tight around the waist and way too wide and long everywhere else. Once I tried them on, I found they fit perfectly and looked good. These are size 8; I usually wear a size 8 and they fit great. I also really like the practical details. The pockets are well placed, and the rear pockets will be especially useful to carry larger items. Pockets with zippers can easily be zipped and unzipped with one hand. There’s also a small cord near one of the front belt loops that is perfect for attaching a carabiner or keys. The color goes with pretty much everything and I didn’t have any issues with the material snagging on anything. These are the best summer hiking pants I have ever worn!
These pants are great. I really am looking forward to using these for some hikes I have coming up. The sizing is good. I’d say the waist fits to true to size but the overall style is more relaxed in the hips and thighs which make mobility very good. The quality of the material and double stitching will help these pants hold up to heavy wear! There is a slight taper in the legs which keeps pans from dragging. The zippers on the pockets and the size of the pockets was actually really great. There are extra pockets on the back also that will be very useful for many items. I used it for a snack and trail map. The material thickness feels high quality and well made. I wore these on a very warm day and felt like the pants breathed and I didn’t overheat. I was also able to roll them up and because of the leg taper they stayed put.
I hike on a weekly basis and often in the summer need lightweight pants to keep the poison ivy off of me. These fit the bill. I love the pockets. There are so many and they all fit my cell phone! It was a hot humid day on my first longer hike with them. They were breathable enough that I didn’t get hot. The only odd thing was the sweat around my knees collected and I just looked sweaty. Not a huge deal but some folks may not like that. Only other thing is the waist has no elastic and has a button zip closure. Fine for me but some don’t like that.
These pants are a nice lightweight yet durable material. I hiked through some trees/scratchy bushes and they didn’t end up with any tears or scratches in the fabric. They are pretty comfortable, however the waist seemed to fit a bit tight for how baggy the rest of the pants seemed. I would’ve liked to go down a size but I think the waist would have been too tight at that point. I did really like how all the pockets are zippered so that you don’t lose anything while hiking. Plus the pockets are nice and big! Overall very comfortable hiking pants.
Great hiking pants! Light enough to wear in the summer or layer in the winter. Unmatched comfort with the stretchy fabric, but the fit is tailored well enough that the stretch isn’t unflattering. I was surprised I liked the back pockets as much as I did but they were nice and deep and shapely. The zippered front pockets were very useful as well as flattering, and the zippered thigh pocket was a nice touch. The perfect straight leg made them easy to roll, and the gusseted inseam gave you great range of motion. After a month of wear there isn’t a scuff or blemish on them which speaks to the durability of the fabric over time as well. The color was also easy to coordinate with. Well done REI! I’ll be using these as a staple for hiking as well as travel.
Love these pants! Breathable, lightweight, and stretchy, yet they still feel durable and good quality. Fit was good, definitely relaxed but seem true to size for me, and I was happy that they were long enough (I am 5'9" and sometimes need a tall inseam). The ONLY thing I didn't like was the location of the pockets - the back pockets are more on the side/hip area. Kind of odd placement and even after wearing them multiple times I didn't get used to it, enough to throw me off each time I tried to put my cell phone in my pocket. This was enough to knock off a star, but otherwise 5/5 for sure.
These pants feel and fit great. Love the crotch gusset and articulated knees. Good pockets- not too many. Good beltloops. No stupid gimmicks. Quality sewing.
I love these pants! They are so comfortable that I bought them in both colors. They are a bit heavier than the Trailmade pants, which I also own, yet they are still light enough to wear in the summer heat. Please consider adding more colors, like dark navy blue, khaki and olive green.
