Waste of money
The whistle is very high pitched and not loud at all. I thought maybe I was blowing it wrong so had a few other family members try it but they couldn’t even hear it in the next room. This ruins the whole purpose of blowing it for help. Also the waterproof container part would hold the three included tender starter but regular wooden matches won’t fit inside it. I’m really surprised that REI would carry this product. It was a waste of money.
Scouting essentials
I just got this for my son who is active in Scouting and he couldn't be more pleased. We're always looking for great ways to let tinder waterproof and this small, lightweight product was a perfect readymade solution. Additionally, aiming to serve as a Den Chief, this includes the whistle which is a requirement in the Cub Scouts essential 6. We are enjoying several product from this Colorado based company.
