Black Diamond  Trail Vista 28 Pack

This pack is perfect for long days in the mountains. It has ample space for essentials, simple design with pockets in the right places, and is comfortable to wear for many hours. The way it fits feels running vest inspired, and I've found I can run with it comfortably at an easy pace with minimal sway and bounce - at least compared to my previous day packs. This makes it a great tool for big days in the mountains where I want to push my pace or cover a long distance, but need way more storage space than a tiny running pack provides, or need to carry an ice axe or a helmet. The stretchy pocket on the shoulder strap fits a phone, a small softflask, or bear spray.

I bough this backpack before going on a trip to New Mexico and Southern Colorado and it has been great for all my long hikes!

I personally think this is the perfect day pack backpack and couldn't be happier with it. I wanted something that I could fit under my seat on the plane but still handle a good day's hike and it does all of that and more. I love the adjustable cord that holds a water tube secure on the strap, the other strap front facing pocket to put a phone in for easy in/out removal, the light weight, the built in rain cover, I could go on. It did everything I needed it to on a 7 day Alaska trip.

Great pack, comfortable with a day or two of gear. Fits well (I am 6. ft and 210) i really the pocket on the shoulder strap- i have used it for bear spray and electrolyte storage.

What a great pack! Checks all the boxes and is great looking too! Just a little too large for “under the seat” for airplane travel so had to get the 20 liter version.
