adidas  Terrex Agravic SL Trail-Running Shoes - Men's

First impressions were that these were a solid shoe. But after trying them on, they definitely fit on the larger and narrow side. I don’t have super wide feet (more like a medium width), and ordered my normal size 11.5 but these were long and slightly narrow. Tons of space between my toes and the tip of the shoe. Also, the sides of the shoes are too tall and were rubbing too high on my ankles causing a lot of discomfort so I could foresee blisters happening in these areas. On top of this, one of the shoes was missing the top hole for the lacing of the runners knot. The other shoe was fine, but the one shoe was missing the one hole. I had to return them for these reasons.

I have a 100km ultra coming up and wanted to get a backup pair, after watching a lot of reviews I decided to give these a try. Out of box I ran 30km with 600m of elevation and my feet felt better than my broke in pair. These are now my primary starting pair and likely grabbing a second so it’s also my backup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Continental tire rubber on the outsole gave me great traction on the loose gravel. Felt more in control on the downhills than I ever have. Well cushioned and responsive and I felt stable. Highly recommend this shoe

My new favorite trail running shoe. Very comfortable, ultra responsive, beautiful look, true to size for me but I always wear thick blister free socks

Absolutely love the feel first thing after putting them on and getting going on a run. They are soft and feel bouncy. I’ve been using them on a fairly flat gravel road so far. After about three miles I felt them pinching at the side of the crease which caused blistering. So I tried thicker socks which certainly helped when I took them 6 miles but could tell they were still going to give me issues the further I went. I also experienced blisters on the side of my big toes. This is only my second pair of trail shoes so I’m trying to figure out what works best for me. I may need a wider toe box shoe…that’s what I’ll try next. I have heard others say the crease pinching is something they experienced as well so keep that in mind. I really want these shoe to work so I’ll keep troubleshooting but I fear I may only be able to use for short runs.

Fits large. I wear a US11 in the Evo SL and purchased both the 11 and 10.5 in these after hearing about the sizing. Whilst the 11 could still work (and may be more suitable for ultra distances) the 10.5 fits perfectly - similar to the 11 in the Evo SL. Overall the best trail shoe ive tried to date, pairs nicely with the Speed 2 which is amazing for the shorter/faster stuff, whilst the Terrex SL can handle anything comfortably.

Best fitting and most comfortable trail shoes ever. First run on a mixed trail (hills, loose rocks/gravel, sand, clay, forest, river crossings), performed well on all surfaces, superbly stable, grippy, great lock down, upper somehow both hugs the foot and allows a comfortable splay (unlike some of my other shoes that do one or the other) and you can really pick up the pace. Adidas nailed the true to size fit in US 11.5, seeing lots comparing to Evo SL and saying to half size down, these correctly fit 4-5mm longer than the Evo SL, they are the same length as my other trail shoes (but a better overall fit), definitely stick with normal adidas size and only size down if you (knowingly or unknowingly) size up with other shoes. Could maybe do with a slightly lower stack but nitpicking...simply can't fault them and I know the Lightstrike Pro foam will only get better with more use.

This shoe feels great, has the continental sole with 3.5/4mm lugs for great traction, and has nice energy return. The problem is sizing. Adidas cannot seem to figure out consistent sizing across their lineup. I have Terrex Agravic 3 in 12, Boston in 12, and the Agravic Speed Ultra in 11.5 because the sizing on that shoe was also messed up. Everything I read told me, yeah, it runs a bit big but go true to size, which for me is 12 across several brands including Adidas. This thing is a boat. I put in a 25km today, and had to really crank them down part way through. When this drought ends and we get some wet weather, I'm going to be sliding all over the place inside the shoe while the continental stays in place. If I could make a recommendation, it would be that all Adidas designers and machines to throw their tooling in the trash, and then all meet at one location and agree what a friggin millimeter looks like.

The Agravic SL has a nice step in feel. Maybe a hair big on true to size, but works well when I have on thicker socks. Plenty on forefoot room for a 2E width. The rocker helps keep you moving and the shoe is very stable compared to my EVO SL road shoe. The Lightstrike Pro is soft, reactive and composed. The midfoot shank is the only thing I would change. The shank sits almost directly on top of the foot bed and takes a little getting use to the first 10 miles. I remedied that completely by swapping out insoles to one a little thicker. Adidas, put the shank about 4mm deep into the midsole on the next version to maintain stability and add more midfoot comfort. Shoe has an excellent ride for slower hiking miles, on/off road ventures and steady paced running. Continental grip lugs are great also. I would recommend this shoe to anyone interested in light to medium technical trail running.

Just a very good shoe in all areas. Comfortable, secure fitting, durable. Sufficiently breathable, durable appearing upper. Lovely, protective midsole. Excellent rubber. Good geometry that works at a wide pace range for me. Runs perhaps ¼ size long, with sufficient forefoot volume to give me a great fit sized down ½ from my normal adidas TTS. One of my best pickups this year.
