worked, untill it didnt

On my second use, the wind caused my canopy to flip over and the poles wacked around on some rocks. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that the fiberglass poles had splintered. Ouch. Always check the poles before touching them.

BLUF: It works, but it isn't great

I don't normally give bad reviews, but this is not a product I would purchase again. I bought this awning for a weekend car camping trip with my girlfriend because we were anticipating heavy rains and we needed somewhere to cook while it was raining. Although it worked for that purpose, this is not something that goes up very easily or quickly. I guess that I've been spoiled with high-quality freestanding tents because I dreaded putting this thing up. Additionally, once I had it set up, I wasn't a fan of how it attached to the vehicle. We have a 2019 Toyota Highlander, and I attached the straps to the wheels, but no matter how I adjusted it, we always got water leaks into the area where we were cooking. Hindsight is 20/20, but I think setting up a canopy with a tarp would be a much better way to have a dry area. I'd also like to mention that this thing is massive, and it takes up a lot of space both in the car and once it is set up. Overall, it works. It gave us a dry area, but it is cumbersome to set up, and it takes up a lot of space in the car.
