Mountain Summit Gear  Horizon 2.0 Quilted Cot - Large

Another review was highly critical of the difficulty of setting up this cot. I would not rate it as critically as that person did - this cot still sets up quite quickly, but they are right in noting it's not as quick as the REI cot. But I (a 5'5" 130 lb 30's woman) was able to set up and break down this cot in less than a couple minutes. I used it for car camping and did not sleep on the cot fabric directly - used a thick car camping mattress with it. It is tricky to get the bars into the fabric the first few times you set it up but they are very secure once they fit into place. The cot is heavy, but in line weight-wise with other car camping cots. It's very stable, which surprised me as there isn't any way to adjust the feet or the support bars. Did not slide around between the cot and the mattress. I appreciated the side pocket for keeping small items stored at night.

We bought two cots from REI for a recent trip. The REI Campwell cot set up in about 1 minute. It just folds out. Buy that one. The Mountain Summit cot is very comfortable. I slept well. It is a real pain to set up. Inserting the side poles takes some strength to get the last bit in. I'm 6-2, 200lbs and in shape. I cussed. Setting up the frame took some time. Break down is a pain, too. My wife had her REI Campwell cot put away in about 1 minute. If I was going to be camping for a week, the time and frustration with the Mountain Summit cot could be worth it. It is comfortable.

The little bag on the side keeps my phone close by for when I wake up at night and need a flashlight.

Have to agree with Danno. Couldn’t get side pole connections completed. Not worth the effort/aggrevation for every set up and take down. Returned the item

Easy to set up and take down. It is heavy, so be prepared for that
