Had the original 2016 version which had worn out the elastic pockets and the zips no longer smoothly opened. I went through the warranty process to get them repaired, but they were irreparable, so I was offered a new pack at no cost. This new updated version is very nice. The updated features make it all that little bit easier to use. The hip pockets are much bigger, which allow more uses for them. The side flask holders are massive, which makes it difficult for me personally to take out my bottle, but it's a small bottle. A larger one would be absolutely fine. The way the pack is held off your back means your water pack stays relatively cool. I was out for about 4 hours in 32 degrees hiking in sunshine and the water was still cool by the time we returned to the car. The adjustment you can make to the pack really means you can have it sitting perfectly no matter your body shape. The only downside is the colours aren't as vibrant as they used to be, but still a wonderful range of colours.
I have had several Osprey products all excellent, but the design of the waist band of this one is awful. After a week of walking the fabric and padding relaxed, but the edging on one side was too tightly sown and did not, leaving me with painful bruising and several cuts, which ultimately caused me to stop walking.
This bag claims to fit torsos up to 20" but is too short at its longest setting for a 18.5" torso
Working in the outdoors, I need a bag that works for me. After always having the talon I risked a change in rucksack. I am not disappointed. It’s a great bag and I love the front zipped pocket for ease of access. Thank you osprey you’ve done what you do best !
Just got this for walking first part of the Cumbria Way. Really enjoyed using it and I look forward to using it for future long distance footpaths.
