YETI  Skala 60 L Pack - Men's

First off I was very skeptical of this bag since I have always used Osprey packs and figured this was just another company slapping their name and n a mediocre bag but charging top dollar for but I was completely wrong! This has to be the most comfortable bag I own even when fully loaded. The straps are thick and very well padded and the waste belt has to be the best one I’ve ever used. It has plenty of large external pockets and pouches but also some nicely sized zip pockets. Plenty of heavy duty loops to hook stuff to as well. The main compartment is HUGE!!! This quickly became my favorite pack and I am constantly finding more and more reasons to use this bag.

This thing can hold so much. I got the 60L capacity to replace an old convertible duffel/backpack that didn't hold as much. It has tons of nooks, crannies and pockets for any items you want to bring along. The zipper is made to block water from getting in. Because of the size and potential weight you'd carry, it has superb padding for comfort and breathability. I've used it for a quick hiking getaway in PA. It will be perfect for my Utah trips when I go hiking and camping with friends.

My son has used this pack on multiple-day backpacking trips and has been really happy with it so far. The quality is excellent and it feels solid and durable. He says that the way this bag is designed it fits a lot more than the other backpacking bags he has used although they were also 60L bags. That makes a huge difference when packing for multiple days and trying to fit all the necessary camping gear, food, clothes and other essentials. The bag also carries weight comfortablly on longer hikes when packed with gear. The wide straps and overall fit make a huge difference when you’re spending hours on the trail with a full pack. Overall, it’s been a great bag for multi-day trips, and I’m excited to use it more. Great job in the design of this one!

After putting the YETI Skala 60L through its paces on a 4-day solo backpacking trip through northern Michigan, I came away thoroughly impressed. This pack is exceptionally well thought out, combining bomb-proof construction with practical features typically found on more bespoke packs. The durable, water-resistant materials inspire confidence, while the tri-zip design makes accessing gear in the main compartment incredibly convenient. The top pockets are perfect for first aid kits and snacks, while the exterior storage easily accommodates water bottles or extra layers you need quick access to. The hip belt pockets are even large enough to accommodate my phone. Load support is excellent and the adjustable torso length makes dialing in the fit straightforward. My pack comfortably carried a heavy sleeping bag, tent, stove, food, multiple water sources, and more layers than I needed. My biggest criticism is the ventilation. The back panel, shoulder straps, and hip belt could all use a benefit from improved air flow. At 60L it is easy to over pack simply because the space is there. Overall the Skala is a an exceptionally capable, rugged pack built to withstand just about anything you throw at it.
