YETI  Skala 50 L Pack - Men's

Generally a very well thought out product. I had it slightly below listed weight of 4.5 lbs. Pockets are well thought out. I liked the dual pockets on the pack lid to help sort gear. And the for external open pockets also were good for water bottles, awkward sized items or quick grab items. I was able to get a long weekends worth of gear in no problem with a final carrying weight of just under 30 lbs. this pack handled the weight well. My nit picky concerns and reason for 4 stars; I would have loved to have elastic bands on all straps to better mange the extra straps after tightening. They had them a few places like the chest strap, but others I had straps annoyingly dangling around. My other complaint was the water bottle pouch. I loved the idea of the dangle entry for easy grab and go of water, but using a pretty standard 1 liter water bottle had it digging into my side as I moved. I would recommend this bag. Very well thought out, seems very well built so I expect it to last quite a while.

My old bag was done. So for my next trip to Andorra and Spain I chose this pack. As an honest backpacker who has hiked most of the States, Canada, and the entire Camino in Spain, I can tell you this pack is worth it. Do not let the "weight watchers" sway you from this because it is a few more ounces heavier than they would like. The load system is so tuned in and engineered to perfection the "extra ounces" are non-noticeable. Plus, let's be real, if you know how to pack right then you know how to pack right. I had a TNF 75 ltr. pack before this. I can tell you that this one can carry everything better and more comfortably.

I purchased the bag about a month and a half ago and as much as I love yeti this one was a bust for me. The back carries comfortable sure, but unfortunately the lower back padding started to fail on me 10 miles into a 60 miles trek. I was able to fit quite a bit in the bag which was nice but what’s the point of carrying a lot of things If there’s no padding. The warranty process was amazing but sadly I can’t trust the bag to hold up on thru-hikes so I’m going to have to sell it for a loss. My advice would be if you want the bag, give them more time to iron out the details.

Love this backpack. I do wish they made it in a varietie of colors, specially Venom. If so I would buy another. The pack does it all. It handles everything you throw at it and let's not get started on the zipper aspect. Perfect size for weekends trips in the back country. When you put this pack on the comfortability is second to none. Truly a pack that is so comfy you forget you even have it on. It distributes the weight like no other. I have wore a lot of packs and this one sets the tone. Keep up the good work Yeti!!!
