Two thumbs up, highly recommend!
The BA pillow barn was life changing for me. I work as a guide in the Canadian Rockies; I spend a lot of time in my tent. I’m also a side sleeper, and I toss and turn. This is a bad combination, as every time one rolls over, the pillow seems to vanish on its own adventure… I’ve spent much time searching for my missing pillow in the middle of the night. :( Adding the Pillow Barn to my sleep system has been magical. It was easy to figure out, and my pillow stayed in place all night long! I had the best sleep ever the first night I used it. I was able to roll around, and no pillow shooting out from under my head. The only thing I would suggest is that you make sure your backpacking pillow fits into the Pillow Barn prior to leaving home. I have many different pillows from my search for “the one”, and not every pillow would fit. Alternatively also buy a Big Agnes pillow at the same time as the Pillow Barn.
Did not work for me
I genuinely hoped this would be the solution to my problem, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. I tried using mine with sheets on a mattress, but it still slid off. I suppose it’s only meant to work with a mattress or a cot. I’ll give the buff trick a try instead.
Love it.
I use it largely when winter camping sleeping on a cot. It solves the problem of your pillow falling off the cot and doesn’t add much weight to what you’re hauling. I am curious to see how well it holds up over time.
Practical benefit and light weight
Suffering from a bit of vertigo, I inserted two inflatable pads in the Pillow Barn, attached it to my mummy sleeping pad, then placed my inflatable pillow on top. Functioned very well!
