Overall, this is a great little daypack. It comfortably holds a full hydration bladder, any layers/shells you might need, and has a couple smaller pockets to organize smaller gear like gloves, headlamp, med kit, etc. It even fits my bike helmet, making it a big but decent bag for mountain biking as well. I took this bag out biking in Moab UT and hiking in Prescott AZ. Both times it was comfortable and did the job just fine! It's a little hot on my back, but that can be said for most daypacks on the market. My main complaint is that the materials used with this bag seem a little fragile. Upon receiving the bag, I took it out and started to zip and unzip compartments while checking it out. With a very gentle pull, one of the zipper tabs broke right away! I replaced it with a little cordage since I was at home, but it would be a real bummer to have that happen in the field. For the price of the bag, I would expect the zippers to be more durable.
This is my first day pack and it felt great! I used it for my recent trek to Rakaposhi and Diran Base Camps in Pakistan. It's lightweight and comfortably carries a layer, some snacks, suncreen, headlamps, and a few basic first aid items, as well as a full hydration bladder. The proportions are good for petite girls (I'm 5 1"). Most of the time I forgot I was wearing it while on the trail.
This is my go-to backpack for any short adventure. Whether I’m hiking or mountain biking, this backpack is the perfect size to hold everything I need for a quick day trip. Would highly recommend to any adventurer!
I needed a new and improved daypack for hiking the Tour Du Mont Blanc and chose this one. I was intentionally trying to pack very light. This bag was very comfortable to wear all day and I had it stuffed to the max once I had all the things I needed each day. I really like the one zipper pocket on the side and one mesh pocket for extra water bottle (which I used for my electrolyte mix). My only wish was that it had a couple pockets on the hip straps and maybe one large mesh pocket on the outside for stuffing things quickly. I think the larger packs have these features, but overall still really liked using it and it will be my go to day pack for many years to come!
This is my first day pack but the time had come to stop stuffing things in to pockets on hikes. This is perfection. Did a short hike yesterday just to test it out and actually forgot I was wearing it. It is supremely comfortable and fit great (I'm 5'1", about 115 lbs). I haven't had a hydration pack in years, but this was easy to rinse out for first use, fill, and use. Absolutely no leakage. The straps felt great. If I had one thing to knock it for, it's lack of a padded hip belt w/ pocket. It does not need the padded hip belt to support the size, but it would have been nice to have an easy to access pocket that didn't involve reaching around to the back or side. I'm adding a pouch for the strap to give me the quick access I'm looking for, so the lack of pockets on the straps are far from a dealbreaker for me. I didn't have the zipper pull issue another reviewer mentioned and it seems quite sturdy. Sat it on the ground in the snow while resting and everything stayed perfectly dry. Color is pretty, but that's just a plus, not a reason to choose it in my book.
I love the new Gregory hydration system! The 2-liter container is the ideal size for a day hike. I’ve used another hydration bladder and hose for many years and this is so much easier to use. There’s no need to remove the hose when you refill the hydration compartment – you just easily disconnect the hose and leave it connected to the pack straps. I also really prefer the mouthpiece on this to the mouthpiece on my old hydration hose. And I love the magnetic feature attaching the mouthpiece to the shoulder strap. The pack is very comfortable with wide padded shoulder straps and a breathable back panel. The zipper compartments are easy to open and I appreciate the outside pockets. The sternum strap took me a few tries to get used to, but now I really like it. It closes with a magnetic hook system, not the standard buckle. My only complaint is that I would have preferred a wider (and maybe padded) waist strap and perhaps a larger main compartment. This is now my favorite hiking day pack! I haven’t used it yet for my computer, but the hydration pocket is the perfect size for a computer.
This seems like a good backpack but it was bigger than I wanted so I returned it for a smaller one. The main problem other than the size was the shoulder straps were too close together and rubbed my neck.
I love this pack. I walk to work everyday and use this pack to carry all my stuff (lunch, wallet, water bottle, laptop, files, etc.). I use the large back pocket for my laptop or files that I am carrying. I use the front compartment for wallet, lunch, etc. The front compartment has two zipper pulls which I really like. The smallest pocket at the top front of the pack has a tether inside - perfect for attaching my car keys. The pocket on one side is perfect to carry the umbrella or the water bottle. The pocket on the other side zips so it is great for my reusable utensils and straw, hair brush and comb. One of the features I really like is the bungee type cord on the side. I can secure either the water bottle of the umbrella. This pack came with a hydration system and I think it may have replaced my current hydration system that I have used for years. What do I love about the water bladder? 1) It has a hook so you can hang it upside down to dry. 2) It has structure so you don't have to keep it open while it is drying (currently use a pair of tongs in my current bladder to hold it open when drying. 3) It has a disconnect at the top of the bladder - allowing you to pull it out and fill it without unthreading the longer part of the tube from the pack. 4) It has a magnet on the drinking valve and on the chest strap so it stays attached and easily within reach. 5) There is hook in the pack to hang it on and and additional loop below that. I like that the water bladder has it's own compartment. Not having a separate compartment for the bladder is my biggest complaint for every other pack I own. I hate unloading the pack just to access the bladder. It is a very comfortable pack! So far I have used this to commute to work every day. I already know if will be a great pack for day hikes. It's next adventure involves traveling from the US to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. I think it will perform well. The only suggestions for improvement: 1) Install a built rain cover. 2) Put a mesh pocket on the outside so you can store items that you want within easy reach (e.g. snacks, rain coat, fleece, etc). Overall a great pack with great features. The fact that it comes with a well designed hydration system makes this a top notch choice for my purposes.
