This will be my choice for the next backpacking trip, packs down almost half the size of my much older pad and is 5” wider, 10” longer with similar R value and weighs 1 oz less! Able to inflate fairly quickly with included pump sack (new to me) after 6-7 ‘trap and roll downs’. Sleep was comfortable and did not feel hot or cold… I sleep cold, so this was a plus for me. Lastly, I appreciate all the details printed on the carrying sack to know exactly what I’m pulling out of my camping bin!
I received the REI Co-op Traverse Insulated Air Padp for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.” It inflated easily (I used an eletri air pump, but it does come with a pump sack). Was very comfortable to sleep on, with minimal noise. I received the "long wide", which for my height was a little long, but I enjoyed the extra width. Great for car camping!
I’ve used blow up pads before but this one is the best I’ve used. No deflation overnight and it truly does insulate very effectively. I sleep in a bivvy with just this pad under me and I don’t get cold at all. That’s not real cold camping - low 40’s/high 30’s so far - but I am confident in this thing. It packs pretty small and is very light for how comfy it is.
I've been packing ultralight for years and sleep has always sucked on those trips. I started doing a bunch of one nighters and figured I would try sleeping like a king for once. So, I grabbed this pad for a freezing night out on the Atalaya. Man, it was soooo good. Best sleep I have ever had on a trip. Comfortable, durable (didn't have stress about damaging like with UL pads) and overall awesome. Not the lightest, but nowhere near the heaviest, either. My only regret...that I didn't get the wide version.
