Excellent all terrain flip flop
Like Chaco used to be, IYKYK. I used to wear Chaco flips for more than 10 years until they started lasting less than two years and they wouldn't warrantee them- at $80 a pop. These are so much better than the current Chaco flip flops. I've hiked in them, camped, rafted, biked, I'm now framing a house in them. Perhaps not recommended, but my feet feel great and I have traction and support for days. I did have a stick almost puncture all the way thru the footbed while hiking, but I think it was a rare event and I'm not worried at all about hiking in them- and again I am perhaps going a little more all terrain than flip flops are expected to handle.
My new backpacking sandal
Very comfortable flip-flop. I like how you can adjust the strap to make it tighter. Soleswill definitely be grippy on wet rock. Comfortable foot bed. Straps a little uncomfortable at first, but I think they will break in.
Holy Grail of Flops
These are the new Chaco. Or well Chaco went downhill years ago and left everyone hanging and then it seemed like Teva took over that with a decent flop. More durable than Chaco but still not Bedrock. These are going to be awesome! A flop that you can tighten the strap on! More technical trails! More comfort. Less foot pain when wearing for a long time. These will be great I hope. People seem to claim they’re wide. They 100% absolutely are not unless you have extremely narrow feet. I would actually prefer a slightly wider forefoot for better protection as my foot is right on the edge. If you have wide feet these prob won’t work for you. I’d say according to the scale on the Brannock device my foot is right on the upper end of the normal range before being considered to need a wide shoe. The tread is excellent. The only problem for Bedrock is that these will theoretically last so long I won’t need another pair for many years and that’s with daily use on the farm, light hikes, traveling across the world and so forth. Finally the holy grail of flip flops has arrived. Oh and the they Vegan if that matters to you. Sorry Olukai, Teva, Chaco, all the other wannabes. These are the best!
Excellent general camp sandals
First, they fit! I have wide, high volume feet (I wear a women's double wide shoe). This is the first light weight flip flop I've found in years that actually fits me. Second, the tread is great. I just spent this weekend hauling camping gear up and down a rocky little goat trail of a path to a camp site. My old sneakers felt unstable, but these gripped well and I could feel the ground, and felt much less precarious. The textured upper sole kept my foot from sliding in the sandal, and the tread on the bottom of the sole kept the sandal from sliding on the rocks. And they're very small and light weight, so they're an easy choice for throwing in last minute for a trip. I'm so glad I found these! I'm going to buy another pair for backup, and probably the ones with backs too.
