The Marmot Wraptor 15 degree sleeping bag is a nice bag for backpacking! I got this free from Marmot and Expertvoice for a honest review! The sleeping bag has no zippers which is unique! The closure at the top is a magnet that slides into a slot and attaches magnetically. The other closure points are small snap magnets. They seem to hold really well and don't open super easily while sleeping. They are easier to close or open than reaching an arm out and pulling a zipper down, and make it easy to control coverage in the bag depending on temperature comfort. The overlaping of the bag helps keep the body heat in the bag and I liked not having to zip or unzip the bag just a couple snaps! At the foot of the sleeping bag is an opening if you get too hot to put your feet out without having to unzip anything! If your feet are cold you can tuck them back in. I got the regular length and it was plenty of room for me and I'm 5'9, 160lbs. Plenty of room to sleep on your side, even with it being a mummy style bag, which is really nice! I like to sleep on my side especially camping and in a mummy style bag it is usually really constraining to sleep on your side, which is not the case with the Wraptor. It is lightweight which is great for backpacking and sinching it small to perserve space in the backpack is great too! It comes with a small stuffsack to condense it down for backpacking! It also comes with a mesh, roomier bag for storage. With the down version, it helps make it lightweight too which is a plus for the overnight backpacking trips. The down is water resistant which is good if a little condensation in the tent drips on to the bag. If you are looking to backpack with a sleeping bag the down version of the Wraptor satisfies the low weight, easy packability and warmth needed. If you don't care about those things I'm sure the synthetic fill would be just as good! Great sleeping bag, look forward to using it more during my trips in the Colorado mountains!

Writing this review from inside the bag. I have used this bag for several types of adventure in a handful of different situations, including colder alpine mornings, casual camping nights, and even just lounging at home. To start with the features: • no zipper: I go into this a lot in the other parts, but the closure is a huge highlight of this bag. It almost feels like a quilt for comfort, but keeps you enclosed more. It vents well, and you can have it set up however you want in terms of how open or closed you want it. I never realized how limiting zippers were until using this, especially when trying to fine-tune temperature in the middle of the night. • Flaps on top: with the magnetic closure, they designed this bag with a top that layers over. You pull the left, then the right to close it. Honestly, this was super helpful for getting out because I could use it like how I wear jackets on cold trips and mountaineering ascents. I could have it fully open when warm, pull one side over to block wind and build some heat, I could pull both sides towards the middle to create a little air vent, or I could pull both sides over and really build the heat. Honestly I loved this feature. Way better than a zipper because instead of just being up or down or partial, I could vent random parts because it wasn’t closed tightly unless I buttoned up. It felt way more natural to adjust throughout the night without fully waking up. • foot slide out: sleeping bags with zippers, even double sided so you can zip from top or bottom, do not vent well. You almost have had to have a quilt for good venting. With this bag, it takes 2 seconds to get my feet out of the bag without having to use my hands or disrupt the heat of the rest of my body. Then if I want it out more, I can just slip my legs up and out of the full enclosure. This also gives me more space for my feet because I can keep one down in the slot and have one out the front. It’s way comfy and I don’t have a scratchy zipper rubbing on my legs. One thing I worry about is the stitch seams where you slide your legs out, and also where the top layer comes to the bottom. They seem like they could rip over time, but no problems with it yet. So far it has held up well through repeated use. • waist height button: I found myself using the bag without this button as it made the bag a little wider and overall more comfy. I did appreciate having it though because in colder weather, it kept things together more and made it feel warmer. Maybe placebo, but I appreciated having it, and being able to use it if I wanted. It’s one of those small features that you don’t always need, but are glad is there when conditions change. Moving on to the bag generally as compared to other bags: • I used this bag quite a few times for quite a few activities. From napping in it at home, to cold ascents outside, and longer trips. One specific trip I took this on was summiting a mountain in the Wasatch Range. The temperatures were below 0° at night and we slept on several feet of snow. The bag did its job well and kept me warm through the whole night. One thing that was really nice about this bag compared to literally any other bag was that because there is no zipper and the design is similar to a quilt, it makes it so easy to adjust and move around. It seems so big inside and I can roll around like in a lot regular bed without it getting all twisted. Then when I got cold at night, I could take my feet out of the bag without unzipping at all. • Whether sleeping on my back or side, it was super comfy and nice that I could move around so much. I haven’t found a reason to really dislike the bag. The exceptional venting makes it so you can legit sleep in this thing in any temperature down to its lowest rating without feeling trapped or overheating, which is something I’ve struggled with in most traditional bags. • Packing it down was crazy easy with the compression sack it came with. When I woke up in the morning, I lightly stuffed it into the sack, then compressed it down and it was super easy, and got so small. For how lofty it is when in use, it gets tiny when in the compression sack. This bag is honestly great for taking out on alpine trips, backpacking in cold weather, or even car camping when the temperature dips. Comfiest I have ever been in a sleeping bag, fell asleep in seconds after getting in.

This bag has been incredible! I love the way it wraps and the ease of opening it and closing it with the magnetic clasp. I have the Wraptor 15 down bag. I've used this bag on multiple trips and it's performed amazingly! I tend to sleep warm so having the ability to adjust easity without fiddling with a zipper is amazing. You can even poke your feet out the bottom and cool down, or even shuffle to use the bathroom... It's rad! I received the wraptor for free in exchange for my honest review and honestly it amazing. I have raved about this bag to all my family and friends. I've had Marmot bags in the past but this is the best one i've used by far!

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I tested the Marmot Wraptor sleeping bag on an overnight backpacking trip in Chiricahua National Monument in southeastern Arizona. It has been an unusually warm spring here in the Southwest, so the lowest temperature I experienced was around 50°F. Even in those mild conditions, the Wraptor stayed more than comfortable throughout the night. I’m 6’1” and about 250 pounds, and I’m definitely a side sleeper, so space and comfort are huge for me. Most mummy bags leave me feeling cramped or pinned in place, but the Wraptor was the opposite. It felt super spacious while still keeping me warm, and I never felt restricted or stuck the way I have in other bags. For bigger sleepers or anyone who moves a lot at night, this design is a major upgrade. The zipperless magnetic closure is the standout feature. Getting in and out was smooth, and the magnets opened quietly with a gentle pull and sealed themselves naturally when I settled back in. As someone who shifts positions frequently, I really appreciated how the design let me roll, bend, and adjust without fighting a zipper or creating cold gaps. Temperature regulation was easy too. Instead of unzipping a long section and letting in a big draft, I could open just the area I needed for quick venting. Warmth felt consistent all night, and the insulation stayed in place as I moved. I was also able to strap it to my hunting pack with no issues, which is a big plus. The storage bag is great, and getting it back into the stuff sack is surprisingly easy, which isn’t something I can say about many sleeping bags I’ve owned. Another thing I appreciated is how quickly it lofts. As soon as you pull it out of the stuff sack, a quick shake is all it takes for the insulation to fluff back up and settle exactly where it needs to be. It’s ready to use almost immediately. This is going to be a great addition to my overnight kit, especially for the mild desert temperatures we see here in Arizona. It hits a sweet spot between comfort, warmth, and flexibility. Compared to other sleeping bags I’ve used, the Wraptor offers a more natural and flexible sleep experience. Traditional mummy bags often feel restrictive, especially for bigger sleepers or anyone who shifts positions. The Wraptor solves that problem without adding complexity. I tested the Marmot Wraptor 15 on a couple overnight trips around Buffalo, NY in early spring, with temps ranging from about 20–35°F. Mostly short backpacking-style trips and one more chill setup where I wasn’t super far from home. First off, this bag is mad comfortable. The fit feels less restrictive than a typical mummy bag, and I could actually move around without feeling trapped. Warmth-wise, it did solid in the 30s, but at 20°F I was honestly a little cold, which surprised me for a 15° rating, so I’d say it sleeps a bit cooler unless you run warm. The zipper-less magnetic closure is the coolest part. It’s super easy to get in and out, and you can open it up fast if you get too hot during the night. That made a big difference with temp regulation vs normal zipper bags, especially when temps were changing overnight. Overnight performance was good, I toss around a bit and didn’t feel restricted, and the bag stayed comfortable in different positions. Packability is decent but not amazing, and it does feel a little heavier than I’d want for longer backpacking trips. I've taken the wraptor 15 out on a couple excursions in different environments and my biggest takeaway has been how comfy it has been, to not just it's space but how you are able to control the temperature comfort with being able to move the flaps if needed! The no zipper configuration was great my only complaint was at night when it was dark the inside snap was somewhat hard to find, an I idea that could help solve this is maybe having a larger different fabric to feel might make finding the snap easier. The warmth and loft was great and didn't get cold even when I took it camping out in the snow. Overall I would definitely recommend this product if you don't mind giving up a couple ounces of weight while backpacking for extreme comfort and flexibility that you know you'll get a good nights sleep in, and a great car camping backpack that packs up pretty small!
