I was so excited for this jacket as it appeared to have everything I was looking for. I was quickly disappointed 30 minutes in my first hike with it. In an extremely light drizzle it had soaked through my head, shoulders, and top of forearms. After an hour I just took it off since it just got worse and was already soaked. Total DWR and seam seal failure. It was either defective or just truly not QA tested at all.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rain jacket did not hold up past an hour of steady rain. Breathability, comfort and fit were great (I'm male, 165 lbs, 5'8" and got a medium) but the waterproofing gave out and soaked through. While I didn't get drenched, I was wet and cold from how much seeped through the shoulders, apron, sleeves and chest - essentially the whole jacket got washed out. First and last time using the jacket and will be requesting a return/refund. Sad because it's a great jacket.
Gray jacket for short periods of rain, but I can confirm you will get quite wet wearing it in five hours of sustained rain.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't know why one of the other reviews gave this rain jacket 3 stars for having rain jacket features... I bought this jacket specifically because I needed a lightweight, packable shell jacket to take hiking with me that would keep me warm and dry. I most recently used this jacket on a 5-day trip in the Austrian Alps, averaging 10-12 miles of hiking per day and it performed *almost* flawlessly. The only issue I had was the jacket did wet out on the tail end of one of our hikes. HOWEVER this was after 3-4 hours of sustained heavy rain with very little overhead cover. Other than that no issues in all day light/moderate rain. The coat takes up little space in a pack, vents well because of the pit zips, and is roomy enough to layer with a fleece in colder climates. The fit was fine. I am 27, 5'10", 170lbs for reference. The length and cut of the sleeves kept rain off my hands, and the height of the collar kept my neck warm and out of the wind. As a hiking shell it does well at a reasonable price. If you need something to wear to the office save your money and get something cheaper.
