Love the teal color, but beware the pockets
I regret not trying to walk with my phone in the pockets when trying on the shorts. The pocket is designed to be so shallow on the hip side that my phone threatens to fall out while just standing. If it was made that way to account for flex while sitting, then give us a back pocket. It's not that hard. Really wish designers would put more effort into designing and considering pockets for female clothing.
Run small
These shorts are what I need for a trip to Costa Rica but glad I ordered a L and an XL because they run small. The L was a little snug and the XL quite loose but better loose than snug so I stuck with the XL and hope they dryer will shrink them a little.
Fit and waterproofing could be improved
I was not impressed with these shorts. I have purchased other products from Columbia before and have found sizing to be difficult since it seems to change depending on the product. They fit tighter in the hips but loose in the waist and they were a heavier material than expected. There is minimal water proofing so when I was drenched in a sudden downpour they did get wet and while they dried faster than my cotton socks, my tshirt dried faster than my shorts.
Sizing didn’t work for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted these shorts to work, I ordered a Medium and a small. Medium was just too big. The small was too short in the crotch to wear at your belly button. I’m 5’2” so that was surprising. at the same time there was extra material in the front. Overall these shorts and the sizing do not work on me, I bought a pair of REI brand ones instead that are great.
My favorite shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my fourth pair of these shorts. I bought them in different colors. I like the material and pockets. They're lightweight and keep me cool while gardening on hot days and they dry quickly when wet. The small size fits me perfectly and the 5 inch length is great too. I'm normally in between an XS and Small depending on the manufacter.
Comfortable for everyday wear
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts are very comfortable. They hit me mid-thigh and loose enough for everyday wear. I bought them for a river float, but decided the 5" inseam was a little long for what I wanted. When I wore them for a day they didn't ride up at all.
Everything I hoped for
Perfect length, perfect fit, and comfy! I was worried about the sizing after reading some reviews- I’m newly postpartum and almost back to my pre-pregnancy size but if the fit was small they would have been a no-go for me. But they fit great!
See through
The light peach color was quite transparent. I had to wear a similar color undergarment or shorts under the shorts. This would be a great swimsuit cover up, however it’s definitely not quite what I was expecting ring as an athletic short.
To small and stuff
Awful! They are stiff and uncomfortable to sit in. The black ones run smaller than the other colors. But each color is about a size to small. I usually wear a small or a medium in Columbia bottoms and the mediums are all snug.
Flimsy fabric
Bought two pairs of these because I’ve had Columbia shorts before that. I love this fabric was very flimsy. There is no body to them I returned them. Wish I could find the original style but Columbia doesn’t make them anymore
