The North Face  Explore Farther Insulated Parka - Women's

The jacket is pretty lightweight by is bulky. The shell is not black black, makes it a little big cheap looking. My chest measurement is 42", 5'6" and M fits better. But I'm more of apple shape and this is not flattering on me.

Living in Boston but being from Atlanta, I had been hesitant to invest in winter gear. I finally bit the bullet with this jacket, and I am very glad I did. It's light weight enough that I can easily layer up with it, but warm enough to withstand the harsh winter winds and weather. It's flattering and doesn't leave me looking like a marshmallow which is the biggest problem with most other winter jackets.

Great winter coat, more oversized fit and thicker. Overall like the jacket and warm for winter activities outside.

This jacket keeps my upper body and butt/thighs warm. I love it. I wear it to work everyday at my school.

I love this jacket! Not too bulky. True to size. I can wear a hoodie underneath. Warm!

Beautiful and warm coat

I am beyond happy with my purchase. I needed a stylish coat to wear to NYC this December and this coat was perfection. I wore it over casual clothes during the day and wore it over glam at night. The black is chic and still perfectly acceptable to wear in the freezing cold over dresses with heels. I live in California and this thing keeps me toasty in our lower 50's and 40's at night. I am extremely pleased with the quality and thickness. I will wear this on Tahoe and other Snowboarding trips this winter!

As a lot of the other customers have stated, this jacket runs too big. I got this for my birthday and is the first jacket I've gotten in literally YEARS. When I finally got it and put it on, I felt like crying because I looked and felt like the size of a mountain! I PURPOSELY took my measurements before ordering, and chose the size they recommended... and it was waaaay to big! Order a size down, or even two. I'm normally an XL or an L, but I looked like I was swimming in it! Not flattering at all.

The Women's Explore Farther Parka is fantastic! It provides amazing warmth and is perfect for chilly weather. The fabric feels sturdy yet lightweight, and the fit strikes the perfect balance between comfort and style. The one reason I'm rating this jacket a 4/5 is because after having the jacket for a year and wearing it for ~8 months, there are feathers coming out of it. Even though I experienced that, I would definitely purchase again! It is super warm, even with t-shirt underneath. I am 5'4 145 lbs, I got a size M because I figured I wanted a roomer-fit for sweaters, but I could have gotten away with a S for sure. The arms are on the longer scale, but nothing problematic.
