REI Co-op  Flash Pants - Women's

Wore these pants on cool- & warm-weather hikes carrying a 25L pack, and loved everything except the dorky hiker style. Con: they’re baggy and not cute, so if you’re out to impress squirrels these aren't the pants for you. The extra fabric may be annoying to some. However… Pros: very lightweight, no “swishing” noise from the wider legs, quick drying (thanks in part to the bagginess), very comfortable waistband including under a heavy pack, 3 deep pockets, breathable, and non restrictive for hiking or even climbing. Comfortable both on their own and with a base layer underneath for colder days. Will be wearing them backpacking next month!

Very breezy lightweight pants , soft ,stretchy and durable Nylon+Spandex combo. Quick drying but soft material which is hard to find combination. One zipper pocket on right thigh , big enough for iphone 15 ProMax. Two outside pockets with a small inner pocket inside one of them). Tie front drawstrings at waist, cinch waist for ankle so you can cinch the ankle bottoms and tuck it in to socks if hiking in mountains with fleas. Crotch and inner thigh area has vented material for airflow. Came out of wash with out any shrinkage . Good pair of outdoor pants from REI. Please see photos.

These pants are so comfortable that I end up lounging in them around the house after hiking. I got a size XS but typically wear a size Small. I think the Small would fit my waist better, but the waist band is stretchy enough that I can get away with the smaller size. The pockets are a good size and my phone easily fits in the zippered side pocket for secure storage or in the main pockets. The right pocket has an internal, more secure compartment for storing smaller items like keys. This is helpful since the main pockets are pretty loose. The length of the pants is perfect and the drawstrings around the ankles are convenient if you prefer them higher or when hiking with boots. The relaxed fit along the legs feels good when hiking and moving at faster paces. I've used them on multiple hikes in PNW winter weather. They are super lightweight and breathable, yet warm enough that I didn't need another layer of pants when the temperature was in the mid-40's. I even wore them in the upper 30's but I would have preferred leggings underneath. These will be very versatile since they are so light and easily packable. I will pack them in my running vest as a backup layer for mountain runs and use them for hiking year round since the UPF rating makes them convenient for summer adventures.

Super comfortable hiking pants. For me, it has all the features on my checklist...two deep pockets, inner pocket, zipper pocket for phone or valuables, comfortable waist that fits just right and is actually at your waist (high rise--yay!) and not below, good length, quality fabric. I have washed it once and it came out perfect. I have worn these at a nature preserve with multiple trails, and they were great. I did however, wear them in chilly weather so the crotch gusset and lightweight material convinced me they are more appropriate for warmer weather. I live in Texas so should have no problem with that! The only reason I took off a star is because they are not as flattering as I would like. On someone else, may be just fine. I do like a looser fit with a pull-up waist, but on my body-type these appear a bit too baggy. I ordered a S which is my normal size, and they generally fit well. If I had been in a store, I probably would have also tried on an XS to see if they still fit but a bit less baggy. Having said that, I will still enjoy them especially as the weather is quickly warming up. Overall I would definitely recommend!

The sizing of these pants are odd, as the waist has a traditional fit, but the pant legs are extremely baggy. The material is lightweight, very comfortable and soft, similar to a scrub-style pant. They have movement and stretch, but are very thin, so I do have concerns about long term durability. The side pockets are nice and big (can easily fit a phone), except there are no back pockets (which is a pet peeve of mine). I’m assuming REI intends for these pants to be a more casual option? Unfortunately, I can’t see myself wearing these in public, and they would not be my first choice for on trail. It’s a miss from me.

Material is great. These run LARGE! I am usually a L or sometimes an XL. I will say this waist was too big and the width of the thighs, while usually a problem of being too small, it was the complete opposite. They look like parachute pants, think of MC Hammer, no joke! I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the sizing of these pants. The crotch is 1/3 the way down my leg! The material is a wonderful soft material that is breathable and can dry quickly in the rain.

These pants are extremely comfy. I’ve wore them around the house and town in addition to wearing them on day hikes. They’re super lightweight, but the fabric feels sturdy enough to hike in. The wide waistband is comfortable, especially under a pack. There’s an adjustable drawstring for the waist. The pockets are great—three leg pockets, one with a zipper, and one with an internal divider. They’re deep enough to comfortably hold a phone or wallet. It’s already warming up where I live, and these pants are going to be perfect for summer hiking in the Southwest. I also appreciate that they offer sun protection while being lightweight! The only con is what other reviewers mentioned - they are a little baggy, so if you’re looking for more fashionable athleisure pants you can also wear to the bar, these might not be them.

I tested these out on a 5 mile hike and then an 8 mile rollerblade. My normal size - medium - fit comfortably around my waist, but the pants felt very baggy. They were quite lightweight, which was great on a hot day. My phone fit comfortably in the front pockets, but I was a little worried about it falling out since they're unzippered.

These pants are vey light weight and breathable with deep pockets, which I love. They are baggier than I generally like in a pant but i can see myself wearing these during kayak season. Because if how thin they are, they are not suitable for the colder months but would be great for hot days, especially when you want to go hiking in tick country and dont want shorts.

Excellent range of movement. Lightweight, quick-drying fabric. I can see these becoming a backpacking staple in warm and temperature climates. Unforunately it's cold and snowy in AK right now and I have not been able to try them on the trails. Looking forward to taking these on summer adventures!
