Horrifying size changes. I have been wearing the v1080 for the last couple years of training. I was so excited for the new colorways. I ordered these for my half marathon. They arrived and I put them on and immediately felt squeezed. I compared them to the v14s and sure enough, the v15s are 0.6" narrower. Even though they are both size 14 4e, the v15 have been cut smaller. NB didn't warn anyone. When I went to a NB store, they confirmed that the new v15s are cut smaller. Horrible decision. I can't make my feet smaller.
I ordered a 1080 v15 in 14 4e to replace my 1080 v14 in 14 4e ... I have a race this weekend. They came in and feel fun... But they felt tight. I compared the soles to my v14s and sure enough. The v14s are 5.5" wide and the v15 are 4.9" wide. For some reason NB decided to make the extra wide shoes 0.6" narrower. Maybe they hate they bigger athletes?
Demo’ed size 13s on the second half of the Boston Marathon course from Wellesley to Marathon Sports in 24 degree sloppy snow- zero problems, very light but protective and springy/responsive! Really liked them. Have never run in NB before. Like that there’s no plate in them.
These are hands-down some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn. The cushioning is soft without feeling squishy, so they’re great for long days on your feet, travel, or just everyday wear. No break-in needed — they felt good from the first step. The upper is light and breathable, and they hug your foot without feeling tight or restrictive. Even with the plush cushioning, they still feel stable and supportive, not sloppy like some super-soft shoes can be. If you want something that looks good, feels premium, and keeps your feet happy all day, these absolutely deliver.
The all black 1080v15 feel comfortable and felt no pain around my feet and knees
Very bad Foam compared to 1050v14causing me painful Achilles
Light and excellent sneakers. Love them. Beautiful colors.
I’ve been wearing the New Balance 1080 v15 for almost a month now, and it has made a noticeable difference. I previously had knee pain due to an old injury, but the cushioning and new sole technology really help reduce the impact, so my knees and feet feel much less sore. It’s very comfortable and supportive, especially for someone with knee issues like me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A daily running shoe is such an important part of a runner’s inventory because such a high percentage of mileage needs to be done easily. The minute I tried on the New Balance 1080v15, I knew I had found my new base shoes. Comfortable and well-padded, I also found it to be remarkably lightweight for a daily trainer. Very pleased to have found this one!
The midsole absorbs impact cleanly and consistently, reducing load through the knees with every step. The ride stays soft without turning vague. Cushioning compresses, then settles, creating a smooth, even transition from heel to toe. The platform feels stable without rigidity, guiding the foot just enough to maintain alignment. There is no aggressive correction, no awkward stiffness. Movement feels calm, predictable, and easy to trust. This is a functional shoe in the purest sense. It trades visual appeal for joint protection, soft landings, and reliable control. If your body matters more than your outfit, this is a compromise worth making.
