Best Simms Waders I have used so far!
These are the best waders of Simms I have used so far! No restrictions to mobility, fits perfectly with multiple bottom and top layers, keeps me 100% dry, and just all round waders!
Looks solid
I purchased these as a gift for my son. The stitching and workmanship looks solid- what I expect from SIMMS. One thing to note: the sizing calculator seems to need an adjustment. It recommends a size small for him (5’10’’, 140 lbs), and while he could get the small pair on, it didn’t allow much if any room for layering. In addition, the small size stocking foot booties were way too tight. SIMMS offers many sizes in their wader line up, but perhaps an ‘athletic’ medium would be a welcomed addition for others like my son. I’m hoping these last him for quite a while. I too wear SIMMS waders and am happy to still use a pair of SIMMS boots that are 30 years old (just resoled with some sticky Vibram rubber).
Alaska approved
great waders! Worked wonderfully on our 10 day Alaska fishing trip! 10/10 recommend.
Great First Impression
Recently bought these for a trip to the West branch of the Delaware, and they performed well over three days, which is the say that they did not leak. Most importantly, they fit perfect. I am 5-11, 195 pounds, 42 inch chest and have size 12. 5 feet. I bought the medium king and was skeptical about the size 9 to 11 shoe size, but my feet were super comfortable. I knocked off one star because there is no draw cord at the top of the waders to cinch tight. It’s not a big deal because they fit so well but seems like a silly way to save a buck.
Leaking a tiny bit after like 5 times out
I really liked these waders the first like 4 times I went out with them. The last time #5 I went out on my kayak for 7 hours and I had to stop and take them off twice to ring out my socks which were completely soaked. The 4 times previous to that, everything got a little damp down there which is normal, but they weren't so bad that I could ring out a cup or 2 full of water from them like my last time out. They have to leaking a tiny bit and I think it's down around the ankle area.
Not as good as past pair.
A few things about waders. I really don’t like the loss of the belt loops. One loop is just silly and means I will eventually lose it. Overall the product just seems cheaply made. I have owned the same style for the past four years and they were excellent. Great fit, amazing quality and I wore them till I wore through the stockings. That’s what I have to say about that. I really hope I am wrong and they last 4 years like my last pair.
Solid Waders
I am upgrading from some entry level Cabela's waders. These are much more comfortable. It is possible I bought to big of a size in the Cabela's waders, and it isn't a true comparison. The storage and hand warming pocket are very nice! If I want to run a light set up I can just stuff some lures in my chest pocket and hit the river. My only complaint and it is a small one, is that the freedom of movement is a little inhibited by the legs. I cant raise my knee past my belt line or the legs will bind up. I tend to do a lot of maneuvering and hiking while in my waders and there were a few times I couldn't quite make a movement I wanted to due to the restriction. This could be the difference in coming from a Large Cabela's and going to a Medium Tributary. Medium is the correct size in every way, it was just every so slightly restrictive when making fairly extreme movements. I am 6'1", 34" inseam and 168lbs
Might have a problem but not sure
I used these for the first time the other day and they were amazing. I had a small wet spot on my under layers on left thigh might have been by my negligence of putting my wet foot on my dry clothes. Gonna keep a better eye on that this week and I know if its anything it aint much because its so slow I couldnt even feel it. And I know they will make it right nbd.
Good enough
I do like these. I used their calculator with my measurements and it has quite a bit of a snug feel. It's hard to get in and mostly out of the stocking feet. Plus, the good and belt ride much lower than is comfortable. Thankfully, I usually drop the shoulder straps and wade. I will not use the suggested for again, that's for sure, but otherwise, pretty good.
Great waders for the price!!!
This product is a great start to get your feet into the wading world!! It comes with o many features that you may not notice when you’re buying them, like the side pockets to keep ur hands warm during cold times or the front Velcro to help you hold wet flies while they dry. This is truly the best entry into the wading world all together.
