I’ve put the Antora2 to the extreme test. I’ve ran them on soft terrain, rocky terrain, on the rocky streams, flat surface, and they’ve held up. I did experience a slip and slide while running on the steepest hills, but not fallen down. I love the fact, compared to other trail shoes, my feet don’t get dirty and my socks remain cleaner. That’s a plus. Because I have bunions, I bought a size bigger and it really helps. I have really enjoyed these Antora2 and now want to compare to others.
Thank you for the awesome review, Angelica!
2nd pair, both shoes developed holes in the same spots after less than 3 months. These are so comfortable and great looking, but such a disappointment. My first pair developed holes in the outer toe box on both shoes after about 4-5 months. I’ve never had this happen with any shoes before. I ordered a second pair in a different color. The new pair (blue/purple) has holes in the same spots after less than 3 months! I’m so disappointed. Clearly this is a design flaw. I see others posting reviews with the same issue. I love Merrells, and have had various pairs as my daily shoes for years. I hope they’ll refund the $ I wasted on 2 pairs of shoes that fell apart after fairly brief normal use!

I’ve had these for about 3 months now. They’re extremely comfortable, and I love them for my daily walks. BUT I’m terribly disappointed to see that the mesh on the outside is starting to tear already. I’d buy another pair but this gives me pause. These are definitely 5-star comfort.

I bought these shoes ten months ago and I already have holes. I wear them maybe once a week and while the treads look great. The canvas is a mess.

Just like every previous pair of Merrells I've had, these were very comfortable shoes and fit well right out of the box. Unfortunately, they also turned to be poor quality and within a month or two of moderate use, began to develop holes in the lining and then on the exterior of both shoes. At this point I've only been wearing them for three months and I'm not confident they'll make it to six without totally breaking down. Very disappointing because I usually love Merrells.

I received these shoes 10 days ago. Sooo comfortable right out of the box. However, after just 10 days of moderate use - walking around town, two light running outings - I am disappointed to see that the fabric upper is starting to fray on both sides of both shoes. The fraying fabric is located right where the shoe bends at the ball of the foot when walking. I haven't been doing anything crazy in these shoes, and they've only been worn on pavement so far. The fact that the damage is occurring in four uniform spots at the same time leads me to believe it's an issue with the shoe, and not that I brushed it against something rough. I had really hoped that a shoe at this price point would hold up better! I like the firm yet cushioned support. I did experience some heel slippage, but not enough to be a deal-breaker. I ordered wide width and felt it was true to size.
I wore this shoe for the entire Camino Frances - over 500 miles in 30 days. I had 1 blister, and that came from wearing wet flip flops after waking. These were the perfect shoe for me. When i got home i ordered 3 more pairs to ensure i can keep wearing the Antora 2 on my hiking adventures. My only complaint is they were totally worn out by the time i got to Santiago. Should have brought a second pair.
Super disappointed in these shoes. I’ve only had them a month and the outside of the shoe is literally falling apart. I’ve already bought other shoes from a different brand and threw these shoes to the back of my closet. I took lots of pics of these shoes showing how with each wear they got worse. I’ve had the antora 2 gortex and didn’t have this problem. Waste of money.

They’re comfortable, they have decent traction, but they’re already kind of torn up. I’ve only used them for paved-trail walking for about two months, maybe 3 walks a week, and I’ve got holes in the fabric at the pinky toe side on one shoe, and two tears on the top inside part where the laces have the final loop in both shoes. The two top holes—likely where my ankles might catch each other, and maybe it’s the texture of the fabric that doesn’t do well with the friction, but it’s a bit annoying that it happened at all.

I bought my most recent pair of Antora this summer and I have yet to wear them a second time. They changed the support around the ankle. I cannot wear these trail running in the mountains or I'll hurt myself. The pink pair is the newest of the Antora and they do not offer full support while hiking and running. It's no longer the same shoe as the previous years. I'm thinking of getting a different trail runner from Merrell but not happy about taking a loss on a new pair of Antora.
