I’ve owned several Patagonia Capilene Cool Daily sun hoodies, so I was excited to see this version finally include thumbholes. The fabric is noticeably different from the standard Capilene Daily hoodie—soft, comfortable, and really pleasant to wear. My reason for giving it 3 stars: the hood doesn’t fit as well as the Daily version and has extra fabric, which makes the fit feel a bit loose and flappy. The pocket is a nice addition, but it’s too small to hold a phone (S24), which would have been very useful. My biggest issue is the button. It really needs to be replaced with a snap closure. Fastening the current button with one hand is difficult—and honestly, even two hands can be a struggle. A snap would make it much easier and more functional.
I wore this a couple of days in Puerto Rico when it was in the 80s and humid. I felt dry bascially the entire time. It kept the sun off of my without needing to deal with sunscreen. I really liked wearing this and will probably wear this all summer when I go paddle boarding. One thing the surprised me was how well it kept my dry, when I know I was sweating a ton. Other shirts have good moisture movement but the texture on the inside of this one really makes a big difference. Great shirt.
I work outdoors all day as a dog walker and trainer, and this hoody has been excellent so far. What I like most is how much simpler it makes sun protection. On days when I do not want to keep reapplying sunscreen to my arms and neck every few hours, I can throw this on and only really worry about my face. I have worn it in 85-degree weather and it has been surprisingly comfortable. It breathes well, feels lightweight, and has done a great job in direct sun without feeling heavy or stuffy. The hood also works really well with a baseball cap, which is how I wear it most of the time. The fit is great too, comfortable without being too loose or baggy— and it moves well throughout the day while I am walking dogs, training, and being active outside. Overall, this has been a really useful piece for long, hot days outdoors, and I plan to buy a couple more so I can rotate them through the week.
Super lightweight and breathable sun hoodie. Usually wear S in Patagonia tops, but went M and it's perfect
Who doesn’t like a Patagonia lightweight hoodie? We were in the Gretna REI and my husband, who lives an hoodie, always go for blue. This time he went wild!
Have yet to put it to the test in the sun, but love the fit and material. Looking forward to using this soon.
Very comfortable. Fits great and works for my golf game.
