Great, but website is selling old version.

They seem to be trying to sell last year’s version On their American website to get rid of old stock. The updated 40 L pack is available in Canada already (He has an updated ski carry Shoulder, And comes in a full “state orange” color). Very odd to me that they’re trying to get rid of old stock by passing this off as an updated Version of the same bag. If you look at the 30 L version, you can clearly tell that it is the updated version on their website. I’ve included here photos of the updated version that show clearly the new ski carry system (a vast improvement from the old versions that would always break).

Terrible diagonal carry system

The pack is lightweight and the side access is great. However…. The diagonal ski carry system on this pack is so poorly designed that it is rendered completely useless. It’s extremely unintuitive, impossible to use with fatter skis, and does not balance the weight well. Sometimes when ski mountaineering you need to throw your skis on your back quickly in a diagonal carry - that cannot be done with this pack making the pack itself a liability in the backcountry. I wish I could return the pack. MH also has no resources online to demonstrate how to correctly use the diagonal carry system.

Disappointed

Somewhat disappointed. Had higher hopes. Main reason for purchase was the alleged improved ski carry ability. Mechanism for diagonal carry on right shoulder was utterly worthless. Poorly designed and broke after five minutes. Good news is that the pack is incredibly versatile, and I found a way to adapt and overcome. A few minutes of improvisation and tinkering made it work. It’s not ideal, but seems to be good enough for now. Impressed with side access capability, but top storm flap needs work. In my opinion, it’s facing the wrong direction and is more difficult to secure. Await further testing in the mountains this winter but not sure this is an improvement over the Scrambler 35 which I have already and is a very good pack. The only saving grace is that I bought at nearly 50% discount.

Soaks up water like a sponge

The white cordura soaks up water like a sponge, which leads me to almost never use the thing for fear it may precipitate or be placed on wet ground The side straps don't fully tighten to compress the pack, so if not loaded up it flaps around The top flap is pointless and gets in the way It packs "out" rather than "up" so if fully loaded you get pulled backwards All around needs more R&D from people in the field not the factory Source: professional mountain guide

Dialed and ready to rip!

The most dialed backcountry pack I've ever worn! Every loop, buckle and strap makes sense for all of the backcountry tools needed, including a designated spot for an ice axe. I am very short but the S/M even in the 40L version sits on my back well while providing plenty of space for gear, layers and snacks. Super durable around sharp tools like crampons and ice axes!

Definitely a good bag, no headlamp needed

Really like the capacity of this bag, also the color makes for finding things on the inside very easy. It’s almost like you just turned on headlamp. I will say, though on terms of access back panel access would be nice other than that very adjustable very comfortable and feels very durable.
