Altra  Experience Flow ST Road-Running Shoes - Men's

This shoe is a great option for those who haven’t tried zero drop and are looking for that wide toe box. It has plenty of cushion in the heel without the aggressive rocking of the FWD VIA. The stability in this shoe is not anything drastic, but it is noticeable compared to the regular Flow, and this is an overall excellent option for daily walking or runs! If you’re looking to experience the wide toe box of Altras but are afraid of the zero drop, this shoe is for you. At this price point it is very hard to beat as well.

I feel the cushioning in the mid sole results in less leg and back pain over long distances. While the shoe more stable than the Torin 8 for overpronaters it not adequate for a "stability" shoe. Think if they went dual density, soft inner and stiffer foam in areas to make it far more stable. An orthotic helps with this. Altra make a wide in this shoe all you need to do it widen the mid foot mesh. Shoe stretcher fixes this. People with wide feet need a stability shoe. Torin 8 didn’t make the cut. This shoe should have 150mm laces instead of 140mm. Fits great around the ankles and before the mid foot, no pain or blistering. Got better around better in the mid foot as I stretched the shoe and it broke in over a few days.

Now that I have put 250 miles on these shoes, I have a review. I like the colorways and the fabric of the shoe. However, the sole of the shoes durability was lacking. I noticed around the 100 mile mark that a hole was beginning to form in forefoot portion of the sole. Now at 250 miles these shoes can’t take anymore, they are falling apart all over. Which to me is a bit of a let down, as I normally get around 300-350 miles out of all my previous Altras. I will likely be returning back to Paradigms as they still have the guide rail.

Perfect (for me) balance between weight, cushioning, and stability. I had been running roads in the Altra Forward, which I liked, but felt like my ankles were rolling a little. This show fixes that.

I bought two pairs (different varieties) of Altras. The others are great. These are unwearable. I’ve worn them twice for short, 5 mile or less, walks. Pain and blisters on the balls of my feet, especially the right one. Has to be a defect because they are the most uncomfortable athletic shoes I’ve ever worn. A shame. They look great and are extremely light, but all for not. I want to return them.

These shoes are very lightweight and the cushion is very comfortable. I use them for work, not for running, and I love them.
