New Sneakers

Lady Representative at REI was very helpful in shoe selection. I was looking for an everyday sneaker for comfort. She showed me a variety of brands and I chose the Altra Sneaker because of the wider toe room and elevation in the heel. I have worn them a couple of times and they feel very comfortable.

FANCY, FANCY!!

I just received these yesterday, if you are sleeping on them BUY THEM! They look amazing. The sole has almost a metallic look to it and one of the best looking shoes I have ever seen. As far as comfort, they feel light, and soft but not to soft! I am excited to see how they do over the next 29 days during the test ride! However, I hope I continue to love them, the color way is amazing. WE NEED MORE OF THIS ALTRA!! I have added a pic of the shoe since I couldn't find a real pic of them anywhere. Don't sleep on them, this is the best color way I have seen yet!

Altra with 4mm drop and less wide forefoot

I've worn the Lone Peak 4 & Lone Peak 6. They were very comfortable, but I decided 4mm drop is better for me. I have a wider than average forefoot but had extra room in the Lone Peaks, which wasn't great for stability. I needed an everyday shoe for walking & running on pavement, so I tried on the Experience Flow 3 in the store and it fit well, so I bought a pair in my regular size 12. If you're in between sizes, I suggest going shorter. The Experience has a slightly narrower forefoot than my Lone Peaks, and that suits me just fine. I've only had these a couple days, and experienced some heel slippage. I used the inside lockdown eyelet (not both, see photo) and was able to dial in the lacing to prevent any signficant slippage. I can't comment on durability yet. These shoes are just fine for my intended use, which does not include competitive running. They're not a cutting shoe, but a very good daily driver. As with all quality footwear, fit is the most important factor.

Great wide toe box without all the bulk.

Love that the toe box is wide and the Drop is so low. And I can fit in my orthopedic inserts! The low profile is great because my feet don’t appear to be as large as they look in other popular competitor shoes. I can’t wear women’s shoes because they’re so narrow.

Great Shoe

This is an excellent mid distance shoe for sure. Some times with Altra show you never know how long they are going to last before they start wearing out. After the first 100 miles they seem to be holding up pretty good. If you like the brand then you are going to love these shoes.

Great shoe

Great shoes. Extremely comfortable. Now have three pairs of different Altra models for whatever adventure awaits. Used a waterproof pair recently for 6 weeks of adventures in Scotland and couldn’t been happier with them. At 76, these shoes are the ideal solution for stability and to prevent sore feet.

Good for everyday. . . But. . .

I do like this shoe. I wear it everyday to work and they are good. I got these shoes also because I had the original Experience Wilds and lived them for everything including rucking in pavement. I was told these were the same shoe except a road version so these would be better for rucking. They are not. I just traveled to Seattle wearing them and rucking everywhere with a 20# pack and they did not do well and they felt to almost flatten out with the extra weight. For day to day work and around my office & some light walking they were great. Just not for rucking.

Maximum Comfort

I have worn these shoes as my daily wear and walking shoes for roughly 4 months and have been very impressed with the support and drop level that they provide. At 4 mm, they give me enough support to be comfortable walking but aren't so aggressive that I get sore. The foam is very comfortable, albeit not the most durable. That being said, the support has held up during this time of heavy use, and the comfort is excellent; these are a perfect intermediate shoe for those wanting to get closer to zero drop and be introduced to shoes with a wide toe box.
