Pretty great overall
These pants are great hiking pants overall. They are very durable, lightweight and have a baggier fit. I only wish they were a tad bit stretchier for better range of motion. The pockets are large ad useable. They are also fairly water resistant. Overall pretty good hiking pants.

Laughably oversized
These pants are laughably oversized... They're just huge. I have no idea how they could put an XS label on this oversized parachute with a straight face. The quality was fine and the inseam was the right length, but they were so baggy it was unwearable. For reference I'm 5'2" 105 lbs, 25" waist 35" hips. If your measurements are similar to mine, don't bother ordering unless you're also getting a fatsuit to help you fill it out. Everyone else can order 2 sizes down.

Best pants on market for extreme heat and sun.

Some of the best pants money can buy for extremely hot weather, when sun protection is also needed. It's about the closest thing you can get to wearing shorts, in pants. UPF 50+ is also bonus. I also like the pockets and how they can snap shut to keep stuff from falling out when I sit to take a break on a hike. Zipper mini 3rd pocket is just big enough for keys.___ They weigh little compared to most pants, with mine under 6 ounces. My other sun pants are over 11 ounces.______Don't buy these for cold weather or even regular weather, they are for hot weather only.

Sizing is weird, but otherwise excellent pants!

I liked the old version better with the bare elastic waist, but these are good too. Unfortunately I am right between sizes. 5'3" 175 lbs and the large is too snug in the hips, thighs, and waist, but the XL is massive and falling off. I have multiple other pants from MH and they're all size large and fit perfectly. I would love to see more funky prints too, great for hiding stains when you're hiking for days on end. Fabric is excellent- very breathable, soft, and durable. Not very stretchy though. Good pockets, might not hold some of today's giant phones but a regular size fits securely.

Very flimsy

Had to change my review. These will be tempting to wear rock climbing bec they are so comfortable…..whatever you do, don’t do it. I climbed 1 route in a corner and absolutely shredded the pockets to the point of being unusable. These are very thin pants that tear extremely easily. I honestly wouldn’t even wear them hiking, the second your leg touches a bush or tree branch they will rip. The products from Mtn hardware are becoming so cheaply made. Had to send in some other pants I wore 3 times bec the crotch seams were coming undone.

Ultralight pants

These are extremely comfortable ultralight weight pants. The elastic waist is great for backpacking and it has a tie to keep them up. Love these pants! True to size. I chose medium for 5’5 150lbs.

Great climbing pant

I got these for climbing and think they were a great choice. I deal with pants that fall down or lose elasticity in the waist throughout the day and I love that these pants have a drawstring. I've only worn them for bouldering, but I think the waist is thin enough to fit comfortably under a harness. I also love the cuff bottom. I'm 5'2 and weigh 130 with a pretty muscular build and wear XS. The length fits my size and the cuff sits right at my ankle.

Great fit, poor design.

Too thin - the material is so thin that any slip or if a prickly bush brushes your legs, they are going to rip. The pockets, while I'm glad they have snaps, are terrible. I want a pocket to put my phone into and these make my phone dig into my leg. They're on the front of your thigh so not very useful imo. Pro: the pants fit well and love the design but will be returning them for a different set of hiking pants. Pants fit true to size.

Decline in quality

I bought my first pair of these in 2024 and wore them all summer. Super lightweight, dry fast, look cute. Bought the blue pine version recently and immediately noticed they are not as good. The thigh area is much tighter and the inseam is different. The waist falls higher than it used to and the top of the inseam sits awkwardly low. They are also a full two inches longer than the older pair for whatever that is worth...
