Not as described. The warmth rating was ‘Warmest’ but it’s nowhere near that. And it’s a dust magnet.
Although the REI website describes this jacket as "warmest," it was only slightly warmer than my windbreaker. It was not what I wanted and so I returned it, but it would be just right if you're looking for a nice jacket that's a bit warmer than your windbreaker.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having secured the garment in a most distinguished shade of chestnut, and having availed myself of its use for the duration of a full day, I find myself compelled to attest to the excellence of its craftsmanship. The exterior fabric appears quite impervious to the elements—or, at the very least, remarkably resistant to the damp. Furthermore, the inner lining provides a temperate warmth, proving itself an ideal companion for the waning chill of late winter. The coat is, in every respect, a most balanced acquisition: it is elegantly fashioned, light upon the shoulders, sufficiently cozy, and wrought from materials of a superior grade—all while remaining most agreeably priced. I should not hesitate to recommend this article to any gentleman seeking a garment of similar merit.
Jacket looked good, and felt good but could not explore more as it was one of defective item i received. Left hand arm was something weird, something with stitching.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my jacket. It looks just like the picture. I was looking for a raincoat that was still stylish. This fit the bill. I wore it on a drizzly day trip to NYC, and it performed well. No complaints.
I ordered XL as I like my clothes loose. The guide suggested large It is snug. XXL would be frightening
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i have a XL Free Country jacket that i purchased about 3 years ago and it fits me great. So i ordered some more jackets this season and they fit good on the shoulders but wont zip up comfortably so i have to wear them with the zipper , its ok i wasnt planning on going hiking with it. But i find the sizing runs smaller now
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket looks fantastic in person. Great Fall jacket for cool temperatures. The jacket is true to size, fits well but could be an inch longer for my build. I'm 6'3", 225 Ibs. Bought a size large. The larger sizes only get significantly wider but not much longer. Overall, love the style and color of this jacket.
I like this jacket for those days when the weather is inclement but not cold enough for the puffy jacket.
Another gift for my younger brother. Fit great and perfect for this time of year.
